Hi everyone

I'm a Spurs fan (football and basketball!) from London, England and was wondering if anyone else on the forum was from my fine nation, or living here?

As I'm new I thought I should introduce myself anyway, I've been a fan for 5 months, I always liked basketball and watched a few games, decided to support the Spurs because a)Manu Ginobili was already my favourite player since watching him for Argentina (thank goodness he signed an extension, I'd have been distraught!) b)I've always been a massive Tottenham Hotspur fan so it seemed meant to be

In England only the Lakers and the Bulls have any major profile so I didn't even realise that we were such a successful franchise! I'm excited by the fact that in my first NBA draft as a fan we go ahead and select the only Englishman in the entire thing, and I hope Ryan Richards goes on the big things, who knows. My 'second team' or team in the East are Miami as the missus is from Florida. Had no idea about free agency etc. when I started following so was again pleasantly surprised to find the Heat might be doing big things in the summer.

Apologies for the length of the post, hello to all, have already enjoyed reading many of your contributions and benefiting from your knowledge of the game :king

Welcome.
Your timing is off on Spurs watch. After a shining decade of excellence we are entering twilight of Spurs and Tim Duncan.
This will be a painful witness.

Welcome! My wife is from England (Yorkshire, but don't hold it against her!) but she's been living in the States for the past 10 years. She never watched basketball before we started going out, and she is now a devoted Spurs fan. Manu is her favorite player as well. Cheers! :toast

Welcome! I'm not from England, but when I watch the Premier League, I cheer for the Spurs. This is partially because they have the same name as my favorite NBA team, and also because they seemed like a good team to cheer for without bandwagoning on the "huge name" clubs (Manchester United, Chelsea, etc.) that are widely recognized here in the States.

Anyway, welcome again, and I hope you enjoy being a San Antonio Spurs fan.

Welcome and I'm no football/soccer fan but I can tell you I do love Rugby. But I follow the All Blacks. I understand about Manu as he is my favorite player also.

Theirs a lot of French Spurs fans I think. Or some ethnic background cuz when I went to the Knicks vs Spurs game in MSG back in december everyone was speaking french. Then they all started singing some song that had to do with Manu Ginobli, it reminded me of Futbol songs. I was like wtf am I in the right place right now.

Needless to say the Spurs won, but it sucked cuz that same day, same time the Jets were playing the Colts week 16 and I missed that game when the Jets ended the Colts perfect season. But when they showed the score on the TV at MSG the building erupted completely.

Hi,

yes, there are Spurs fans in England!! My wife and I are from Milan and have been living in London for almost three years now. We are longstanding Spurs fans, basically since Manu joined the team. We've been to the US to watch live the Spurs-Sonics series in 2005 and the Spurs-Suns series in 2007, not bad in terms of dedication to our team
