There are rare occasions as a journalist when you just can't help but throw your integrity out the window and provide a completely biased view on a particular topic. This is one of those times: BioWare has officially announced Dragon Age II and the gamer in me has pushed the journalist aside to say, "Woot!"
Now then, the handful of details publisher Electronic Arts made available: Despite the sequel-ready ending to Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II will feature an all-new adventure in an all new realm. And that realm will be portrayed in an entirely new, Samurai Jack-like visual style with updated graphics.

From BioWare:
Dragon Age 2 progresses the epic saga, as you take on the role of Hawke, a survivor of the Blight and the hero who will change the world forever.
You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home. Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your place in history. This is the story of how the world changed forever. The legend of your Rise to Power begins now.
The adventure will take place across a virtual decade and gamers will also do battle with new combat mechanics that require you to "think like a general and fight like a Spartan."
Fans looking to learn more (me, me!) can check out the August issue of GameInformer, which features a cover story on Dragon Age II, and BioWare also announced that the first trailer for the game will be released on August 17. Keep an eye on the official web site for more details.
