Jesus, you'd think from all the doom and gloom that we lost the series.
Let's get a grip. people.

All that's really happened here is that the Spurs and Sonics have held home court. Yes, we SHOULD have taken one of two to control the series, but we haven't. So you just have to go home, take care of business at the SBC----where, incidentally, the Sonics have NOT looked good in the posteason-----and you have a chance to win Game 6 on the road. Remember 2003? Lots of Game 6 closeouts. So let's just see how it plays out.

Not that I'm not pissed off also. I just think if you're gonna write off the series, start calling for Pop's head (funny, nobody complained when they reeled off 6 straight wins), and blame everyone from Swen Nater to Brent Barry, you should just find another team to root for. Like Miami.

That's pretty much describes many Spurs fans. After every loss, you hear the usual doom-and-gloom, sky is falling mantra. Somebody has to be traded, Pop should be fired, the offense must be changed...etc. and etc. Many people expect the Spurs to go 82-0 then 16-0. It's been like this for years.

I didn't see the game on TV, I heard it on the radio and from what I heard, it was constant turnovers, Sonics hitting 3's from players we didn't expect and the Sonics constant whining to the refs finally paying off. Fortson ("a biscuit or two over 250 lbs") flopping, Allen and his elbows. The Spurs were flat, Seattle had the energy and ran with it. I wish I had more to say about it but when all I have is audio and no video, makes it a bit difficult to give an observation.

I keep hearing the soft label, but the Denver series and this series have both been very physical and in the past, the Spurs would have been rattled. It hasn't been the case this playoff season.

On to game 5.......

What similar fate the Spurs and Suns have? They both lost Game 4, forced to tie series at 2-2, had great contribution by their MVPs, who got little help, still left with homecourt advantage.

Hope they can meet in the WCFs.

Why shouldn't I threaten to jump from the ledge? How else am I going to get them to up my medications? :spin

It's just that you want to throttle somebody after seeing that "deer in the headlights" type of game. It's enough to give you flashbacks. Last night I thought the Spurs would flush them thoroughly... and I thought Dallas had no hope against Phoenix. Maybe I should follow Jim's lead and bet a bottle of wine that Seattle will win the next game, eh?

I think many believe the Spurs will finish off the Sonics however the lack of intensity and concentration are what most see as a potential downfall of this team. The Spurs cannnot fuck around and pull this type of "tuck tail" attitude against the Heat, Pistons, Pacers, Mavs, or Suns because they will get buried. I think the Spurs needed a fire lit under thier ass, and that last loss just may have done it.
