We all witnessed the Heat trade/celebration go down. Will every other team in the NBA start stacking up with players?

Stern McMahon put the steak through the hearts of his despised small market teams with the shady miraculous dealings that took place in '08. (Lakers-Celtics go from mediocrity to stacked powerhouses overnight at the same time, 3 straight Lakers-Celtics Finals...oh brother).
this thing with the Heat ...the nba officially jumped the shark.

there is no way for small market teams to compete with this stuff, whats the point in trying to build a contending team the old fashioned way when some big market glamour teams can just get a bunch of superstars for nothing from one season to the next?

That would be good for the NBA. It really would.

I don't see why.. The salary cap is still in place, the next CBA will probably cut salaries even more..

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but cities like San Antonio are bigger markets than Miami. Hell Austin is bigger than both Miami and San Antonio. Only reason they don't have a pro team is because everyone has to compete with the Longhorns.

not even close genius, the 'city limits' population numbers dont mean shit. the Miami metropolitan area is roughly the size of the Houston area- around 5.7 million, plus all of southern florida would be their fan base.

by comparison san antonio and austin are both under 2 million in population...not only that but the Spurs 'area' is pretty much limited to san antonio, dallas and houston have their own teams, austin doesnt give a shit about nba and there are no other significant population centers in the vicinity.

so basically san antonio is a small market team, with the fanbase being pretty much limited to the SA area - around 2 million people

the Miami area and surrounding regions support a fan base around three times that size.
