On one side i like it to be hosted in the USA. Would be pretty cool, but I agree as some others said. Its a shame that its not a real football nation, if only football was more popular in the USA than it is now.

But then again, I think it will be popular, more than in 1994. Football is already more popular and popularity is increasing. So I like it if it was held there.

The thing with America is that most countries are in no condition to organize a cup, unlike a good part of Europe. Asia is somewhat the same, that's why it was a Korea/Japan tandem when it happened. So you'll see more repetitions in American than you see in Europe if they're going to keep the 'one in Europe, one outside of Europe' order.

The cup with the best soccer stadiums where 2006, because it was big stadiums build for soccer only.

What i meant: In Mexico you could "see and breath" the cup in every single street, store, bar etc. In germany it was 4 weeks a big public party, no matter where u was, even in small cities. You could not escape from the worldcup. Same will be 2014, same would be in a country like mexico or england.

And thats something a cup in the USA just could not deliver. Nothing against the USA, but its different in there. It doesnt matter if in the stadiums are 70000 or 60000 in average, that not the sign for the "most popular" cup...

England will get the 2018 bid, and the US will get the 2022 bid. I feel about 90% certain of this.

If any European team gets 2018, then the US chances at 2022 skyrocket. They'd be up against Australia and Qatar only, which are both interesting but you've got to follow the money. '94 is still the most attended and highest $ grossing WC in history.

Dubai is 250km away and 2022 will be Dubai World Central International the biggest airport in the world and a major worldwide hub.

In Quatar the Deutsche Bahn is building since last year a complete new train- and metro system, also connecting the neighour countries.

Not hard to do either. When I lived in downtown São Paulo, it only took a 5 min drive to end up in a shithole, if you didn't know where you're going. Not much different than Buenos Aires in that aspect... lol

Was 3 times in rio, last time this march for 3 weeks at copacabana when my GF had a intern training at the petrobras hq.

I really think they will fence the whole maracana area. Entrance just with ticket. Safety and otherwise you would have thousands of people flying around there selling shit and tourists barely could move. And the shuttle busses from Barra and Copa probably straight ending into the area.

Im more worried for the cup when England play in Rio and there are 30000-40000 drunken british fans walking aorund the city. Poor bastards. And in a robbing they probably even try to fight then...
