This is the same website who posted a Tiago interview before free agency start.
http://balanacesta.blogspot.com/2010/06/o-mvp-fala-parte-1.html

Today they reported Tiago signed a 3 year deal, but no info on the money yet

Conforme dito aqui, sem surpresas Tiago Splitter fechou com os Spurs por três temporadas (todas garantidas). Depois de passar a lua de mel no México, o brasileiro desembarcou no sábado em San Antonio para realizar exames médicos.

I think the site is reliable. They posted it today in the morning (11:22 San Antonio Time).

I'd like a team option for a 4th season but 3 season is enough for the birds rights

If it's 3 years with a starting salary of $4.5M-$5M, it makes a contract between $14.6M and $16.2M.

Dilemmas, dilemmas. Which Brazilian naming precedent does he follow? Does he take the Nene Hilario route, using Tiago on his jersey and eventually just dropping the Splitter part for NBA purposes? Or does he take the Leandro Barbosa/Anderson Varejao route and call himself Splitter?

By the way, his endorsement deal with that "Tiago's" restaurant at The Rim has to be a no-brainer.

And I think the ":Splitter" should remain in use as an emoticon, but it should be the long overdue emoticon for "relieved" -- whatever that would be.

I think "Splitter" is good enough. Nene's real name sounds horrible (in Portuguese, at least).

1. The Spurs signs the quality player they wait for 3 years. Hope Tiago turns into a solid NBA player.
2. Tim gets help in the paint. Surely he will do everything he can to assist in Splitter's NBA transition.
3. Spurs fans has reason to cheer for after last season's disappointment. Though the Lakers and the Heat may still be too strong, at least our team is strengthened.

Some Tiagos's quotes for the Brazil press:

I don't know if I'm going to be a starter, I'll only have an idea when we start practicing. What I want is to try to adapt myself to the NBA game as soon as possible.

I'm happy to be with the Spurs because they're a team who always want to win the championship

Reporter asked if he prefers to be a NBA champion or a World Champ with Brazil and Tiago said both

Brazilian newspapers and websites gave a big coverage to Tiago sign. More Brazilian fans for the Spurs. Here some links in Portuguese (the first two have those quotes I posted)

Tiago has been a great addition to the Spurs thus far. Fits the system perfectly. Yes he is a little too clumsy at times and his hook shot look far from smooth, but we all know what kind of player he is and is not by now.

Probably the best pick and roll defending big man in the NBA.
