Strikeforce had been planning a one-night, four-man tournament in Houston to determine its next champion. The four competitors were to be Kennedy, Souza, Robbie Lawler and Matt Lindland. Those plans, however, were nixed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation...

So, it's understandable that Texas doesn't allow tournaments, but Strikeforce has done it before in California. The 8-man tournament was way more interesting and could be way more hyped and help to show that SF hasn't just been a waste for 4 years and without an overall strategy for its fighters.

How did they manage to get Showtime and CBS to have faith in them when they haven't been able to put together consistent programming and have failed to put together a roster with more than 1 contender per weight class? Really, does anyone even like those bozos?
