LOL. Ya, I don't quite get the whole post. What do they mean by "watching"? Which of those 3 are FA's anyways?

Morrison maybe (maaaaaaaaaybe), but the other two? Ely is a PF, and so is Harrington, right?
Edit: Harrington would actually make a pretty good "stretch 4", but unless the Spurs commit some very bad juju by backing out on Bonner, I don't see where the minutes would come from.

Maybe Harrington but the other two would never see the floor. Are they for practice purposes ?

Harrington would be an interesting addition. He would fit in as a stretch 4 who also has an average-above average post game. Don't see us having the dough to sign him though. I see him getting MLE or above..

Morrison makes sense for a training camp invite if he shows anything in a workout.

It IS Hoopsworld, so I don't know what to believe. I don't understand why on Earth they would be watching Melvin Ely, who they've already had before, but if true, having Al Harrington on their radar is interesting, considering they don't really have the money to sign him.

Just because the Spurs continue to do their due diligence (as usual) and attend a workout, doesn't necessarily mean that they're interested.

Spurs aren't interested in one of these players. The title of the thread is misleading. Hoopsworld is just reporting that there is a vet workout in LV with Morisson, Ely, Harrington.. and that Spurs are one of the team in attendance.

The title I put is a quote, I'm not implying anything. And I agree: I don't think the Spurs are looking to really sign any of these. Just watching to see what these guys have got.

I would really like Harrington but his asking price may be too much for Spurs...Morrison im not too sure about him, he had a good rookie year with Charlotte but since going to LA he hasnt done anything, but maybe he still has a nice 3pt shot which Spurs need at the 3 spot, currently we only have RJ (technically) and he dosen't have a 3 we can rely on.

Dig through? Lol, I saw it on the timeline immediately and posted what I read. Did not look for any others news or "dig" through anything. They said many teams were watching those guys, the Spurs were obviously one of those teams so I posted the relevant part. If my title is misleading, it's Hoopsworlds title that's at fault. All I wrote is what was quoted: the SPURS are watching these guys according to Hoopsworld, i'm not implying anything else.
And if it's true the Spurs are there, then theirs definitely something interesting enough for them to go see. They wouldn't send a scout just for the sake of it. I'm not saying there's actually anything in it, just an interest to see some specific player for whatever reason.

Have you understand that this tweet is a part of a bunch of tweets explaining that there is a multi-team workout in LV?
There is no way people could understand that with your title + OP.

Morrison is basically just Matt Bonner, minus the defense and rebounding. His knee injury has left him without the mobility to create his own shot or to be able to even make a decent effort at defending someone.

Yet half the Spurs fans on this message board seem to think that having someone to shoot threes is vital to their chances of winning a title, and most everyone seems to believe that Pop thinks so. The criteria so far seems to be that a guy has to be taller than 6'6" and be able to shoot threes. If you want a guy that can defend and rebound then I'd rather figure out a way to retain RJ and make Blair the small forward for other parts of the game.

Yep - a shorter, injured Matt Bonner without the sense of humor. The Hoopsworld writer is an idiot. If any of the Spurs staff goes to see Harry Potter, they're gonna write that the Spurs want to sign Dumbledore.

I disagree. Morrison blows as a player, but his comedy is effing hilarious. He does the funniest most random things on the bench and during practice. He is Hilarious. Kobe and Lakers always say he is funniest guy on team behind the scenes. I'd sign him for 1m just for comedic value, that goes a long way in locker room

Pass on everyone but Morrison. Why not sign a guy that will be cheap and younger at least. He hasn't lived up to his hype, but if we get him for the minimum why not? Good enough for a camp invite. On top of that, he was publicly humiliated on Jimmy Kimmel. How much would he love to actually get meaningful minutes and stick it to the Lakers?

If the Spurs were there to really scout someone, I'm guessing it was Harrington. I remember there at least being one report of them being interested at a trade deadline not too long ago and there may have been one or two other instances where they expressed interest.
Should be decent for Denver. They need front court help (and it's always nice to see Cubes strike out).

When did ST members see Morrison can shoot, i really can't understand.
He's a bad shooter in is entire career. He couldn't shoot better than %34 in his best.
He's not a good three pointer, he can't slow my grandmother on defense and he can't rebound.
Can anyone explain to me why we need him?

Morrison has worked out for several teams in Las Vegas this week, including Washington, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, San Antonio and the Los Angeles Clippers.
"It went really well," Morrison's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPNLosAngeles.com of the workout. "A lot of teams are interested. I think we'll have something done shortly."

I'd like Morrison as a bottom of the bench shooter, but not as a perimeter D specialist w/ a shot.
Unfortunately, there's not enough room for both types, and personally I'd rather have a streaker shooter who is a tenacious defender. If Pop signs Morrison (instead of Matt Barnes, for example) it's another sign that he still thinks the Spurs need to outscore teams instead of stop them.
