I've never seen David Robinson sign anything without giving a bible verse also.

I can't help but look at that and think about hearing about "upperdecking" for the first time a few weeks back.

Yeah David and I believe also Avery always put a bible verse when they sign. But hey thats what I've heard I have exactly 0 autographs from them

It strikes me as an odd card, since it lacks David's biblical citation and because it has Russell's autograph. Unless something has changed recently and I've just missed it, I seem to recall that Bill Russell refused to give autographs to anyone -- he wouldn't even sign basketballs for his teammates.

He started signing again in 1992 after 28 years of not signing. He got paid $2 million (or something like that) from a collectibles firm for signing 5,000 autographs over the next 7 years.

That being said. I don't think this is real. David's bible notation is missing. And the R in Russell doesn't look like the other Russell signatures I've seen. But hey, I'm not an expert.

It's real. Kori is right about Bill Russell. I'm sure David and Upper Deck have negotiated a deal in which he doesn't quote the Bible. Also, the card is not just some fictious, convienent piece of paper, it is a limited edition card of what looks to be one of only ten of it's kind. The type of fake being suggested is virtually impossible since somebody would need to create the actual card and design. The only way it could be faked is if it was duplicated or copied and you could get idea just from looking at the card in person.

I have a signed David Robinson picture that does not have a bible verse quote. So I wouldn't disqualify it because of that alone.

David's autograph used to be very rare to get on certified autographed cards.
Over the last couple of years a bunch of different ones have come on the market signed by him with and without the bible verse.

Check my autographic collection of The Admiral right here (http://p209.ezboard.com/flegendarybasketballfrm2.showMessage?topicID=111.t opic) .

This card is just awesome.

I've got a few David Robinson autographed cards without the bible verse that I got straight from the man. Myself and a friend of mine used to go to the practices at Incarnate Word and collect autographs from all the Spurs at the time. He started using the bible verse after he was "born again". David has been quoted as saying that his first few years in the league, he wasn't exactly a saint and credited his new found passion for his religion as "saving him". Depending when that event happened and when this card was signed, it could very much be legitimate.

You are right on H.O.P., but this card was signed this year and is without any doubt the real deal.

Well I was the highest bidder on the card at $225 , but the seller doesn't wanna sell the card for that price.
He is allowed to because he set a reserve price which is higher than the maximum bid I gave him.

Darn...
