Jul 13, 2010 - Juwan Howard is -- finally -- on the verge of joining the Miami Heat. According to Ira Winderman of the Miami Sun-Sentinel, the 37-year old Howard is expected to come to terms with the Heat on a minimum-salary deal as Miami continues to try to fill out its mostly barren roster.

Shouldn't the Heat start signing players that are going to play some minutes? There are only like 6 guys on their roster.

Lamar Odom, Steve Blake and Raja Bell (when accepts tomorrow) is already better then any of Miami's bench players.

Juwan looked like he still had something to contribute in the playoffs against Phoenix. Good pickup for Miami. Between anthony, Haslem Bosh and Howard, all they need now is a true starting C.

Raja Bell is not a part of the Lakers. Raja Bell is on record saying that he wants to play for Miami.

We'll see who gets him.

Raja Bell is a FIU alumni and has most of his family down here.

if they have a guranteed playoff spot come last 2 weeks of season I bet they will get major rest for the playoffs.

Howard really surprised me last year, I didn't know he had that much left in the tank..he was good defensively and made his mid-range jump shot consistently..with Big Z and Howard, they have some good veteran depth off the bench for situational purposes..

They still need a legit C, but if they don't get one, at least they have a lot of depth up front for foul purposes..

if they want home court against in the finals they are going to have to win 55-60 games

it is also going to take time to gel

Iverson is cancer, but if there's any place McGrady would STFU and coast, it would be Miami.

NBA front-office sources say that Bell continues to draw interest from a variety of playoff teams, such as Miami, Dallas and San Antonio. One source said signing with the Heat has essentially been ruled out because of Miami's financial constraints after signing LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Mike Miller to flank the re-signed Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem. But the Suns are also weighing the prospect of trying to bring Bell back.

Juwan Howard is solid, even at 36. The guy can still produce a double-double every now and then, given 20-30 minutes.

For a minimum contract theres not much room to complain. Are they old and washed up? yea but are they completely inadequate as basketball players? probably not.

nope but they're indeed the only things Cheat can get now after using up their salary space for Lebron/Bosh/Wade. They have certainly gone elites+dipshits mode like the Boston celtics succeeding Allen/KG's arrival.

LOL Juwan Howard. That's about as good as the Heat can get to fill out the other 9 slots on their roster. And Zeke is washed up, he's even less effective than Shaq at this point. (And he was never as good as Shaq ever was)

Color me unimpressed.

Raja doesn't want to play for the Heat, regardless of what you've seen in the papers. He was disgusted by what he saw happen last week and, being the competitor he is, wants to play against those assholes rather than with them. I'm not sold that he's high on the Lakers, but they have as good a chance as any.

HarlemHeat37
07-13-2010, 10:10 PM
That would be really funny if Raja Bell doesn't want to play in Miami for that reason, then he goes to play in LA after Kobe publicly embarrassed him:lol..

Funny also that 2 of the big 3 are holding down major network analyst jobs, too. Wouldn't have predicted that from them. I think Juwan could join them if he wants when he retires.
