harrington prob wanted bigger role than being a 6th man bench player playing behind Dirk. He can probably start in Denver with Kenyon being injury prone and all

What else can the Mavs get for the MLE though?

Tolliver?
Earl fucking Barron?

Is Ronnie fucking Brewer still available?

Good news for Mavs. He's a chucker who doesn't play D.

On the real I was telling co-workers would be nice if Mavs were really good.
I love basketball.
I live near Dallas and I woud like to attend more than just the Lakers game every year ...
Dirk is a star and deserves more. Everyone crediting the Heat but Dirk was the one who took (gave) the biggest hometown discount ...

Nice guys finish last I guess.

I'm actually hoping the Spurs can steal him for what's left of our MLE, so I'd prefer you not offer him the whole thing. We'd probably get him anyway since you're the Mavs, but why risk it?

Don't know why Mav fans are crying. Maybe it's because the team tried hard to pursue Harrington and failed, but Harrington really isn't that good anyway. Nuggets got him for a good price, though.

I liked the idea of Harrington coming off the bench in Dallas, I don't know if I like it for Denver..they need big man depth, so it's good in that regard, but he's going to a system that will just encourage his flaws, which is chucking and not playing any D, the same problems he had in NY and GS..

Didn't Pierce actually take significantly less than Dirk did? I'm not discounting what Dirk did (as you shouldn't with the trio in Miami), but Pierce left a lot on the table as well.

Damn, that's horrible. Even if it's a good thing for the Mavs, they turn down better players and get turned down by the worse players.

Harrington sucks. Mavs could go after Shaq now...

The Mavs don't need Al Harrington.

Looks like Denver are going backwards, they were onto something when they started playing defense, but acquiring Harrington represents a shift away from that.

lol Brewer for the MLE. But that's how Dallas rolls.

I would have taken him for 3yrs but 5yrs is crazy. It was an obvious choice for him to go to Denver, more years and more playing time. He would have been nice as a 7th or 8th man but not for that price.

Try and bring back Tim Thomas if his personal problems are taken care of, you could get him for the minimum and he is a slight downgrade from AL

+1

That said, I have to wonder about the Mavs mentality heading into this season. They REALLY need Caron Butler to emerge as a legitimate #2, or for Shawn Marion to learn what a first step is.

Harrington certainly wasn't going to bring them any closer to a title.

Nice move by the Nuggets. Noone else was available and it mwill be the first time in the Melo era that the Nuggets have a decent shooting big man.

He will have lots of open looks because of Melo/Nene in the post. I think he will be better than in NY/Atanta coz those teams sucked and he just chucked. It will be like the transformation of Jamal Crawford when he went to a winning team

The only bit i dont like is the 5 years. The figure is ok due to the fact this offseason is full of overpayments (eg see Wesley Matthews)
