I'm watching the Womens U-20 FIFA World Cup US vs. Ghana from Germany... and the presence of Vuvuzela's is strong. I'm afraid it's begun. FIFA can't use the "it's part of the local culture" excuse anymore. Time to ban the things.

I hope they don't get banned. As annoying as they are to some, the noise is so monotone that I tuned it out without even trying. It's a fad--it'll die out the more calendar days we put between us and the 2010 World Cup.
I would like to hear the din stop at least for the national anthems, though :P

Anyone ever seen or been to a match at Azteca? Shit's always been around, so it won't be new on this side of the world

Like Lone said, it's a fad, I wouldn't want FIFA to taint its image by banning it

Im afraid we will never going to get rid of these. We will see and hear these in all upcoming football tournaments. :( Unless they decide to ban them of course.

Nuremburg, Dortmund, Gladbach and Bremen banned them allready.
The other clubs will ban them just if it will be too many of them.

Some Dutch teams have banned them too. They are looking for a league ban now.
