Will he be able to play 60+ games?

I just hope by the playoffs he's kaput. He's tough on us, and I want as easy a clean to 17 as can be mustered.

Stop being a hater. Yao will at least play 50+ games.

Stats don't lie. They are going to hold his games to below 55 games and his minutes around 30-35 min a game where he does play. Yao has played in his last four seasons before injuries sidelined him 57, 48, 55 and 77 games. If I'm Morey and Adleman, I do not play him over 55 games and severely limit the guys minutes. If you do that, then you get the dominant big man you need for the playoffs.

Some of those injuries were just flukes. The first one was because he didn't cut his toenails and developed an infection of the big toe which required surgery. That one was on Yao for bad hygiene. The second one, Tim Thomas fell and undercut Yao. Yao landed funny and broke his right knee which looked like...well shit happens. The third injury Yao made it to 55 games before being diagnosed with a stress fracture. This one is concerning because it's an overuse injury. The fourth injury was a continuation of the third injury hairline fracture left foot. But he made it to 77 games before being diagnosed. However it is likely he played with that stress fracture for many games before limping out of the playoffs against the Lakers. So now we have a statistical baseline of how many games Yao can handle. Roughly 55 games.

You want the Rockets to build around someone who can only play 55 games?

Ya, but what kind of analysis could anybody possibly have to predict this?..

Unless somebody here is a doctor that has access to Yao's in-depth medical history:lol..

at least 50, hopefully more. You just can't help but feel sorry for his feet.

Even if healthy he won't be the same, look at big Z. If he can't stay healthy this season which is very unlikely it's time to go in another direction. Hell if he didn't make the Rockets so much paper while even injured he would have been gone.

I would chop my dick off if Mr. Shite came back playing again. There will be no injury concern for him because he will take good care of his hoofs and will never again risk hurting them.

Less than 40. But no worries, they have a starting quality C Brad Miller as his backup.
