Here's a look at the 2011 Chicago Bulls Roster

PG - Derrick Rose / C.J Watson

SG - Ronnie Brewer / Kyle Korver

SF - Luol Deng / James Johnson

PF - Carlos Boozer / Taj Gibson

C - Joakim Noah / Omer Asik / Kurt Thomas

I'm putting the Bulls top 2 in the East behind Miami and ahead of Orlando. The reason why I put them ahead of Orlando is because if there is anyone in the league capable of slowing down Dwight Howard its Joakim Noah. I did a head to head between the two for the latest 6 games and Howard's stats are:

16.2 ppg 11.5 rpg .512%

His 2010 stats were:

19.0 ppg 14rpg .612%

I dont like the Magic but since Otis match everyone that cant run away fast enough the Magic are pretty stacked too.

Any Rose injury and the backyourt is trash.

Somebody once said that Dwight Howard's offensive game was so bad that Carlos Boozer looked bored when he had to defend against the same exact moves over and over again. And this is Carlos Boozer we're talking about here.

The remainder is pedestrian.

Holy fuck this might be the 2nd time the Bulls win a playoff series in the last 12 years.

I think they have a shot at #2. I'd still call Orlando the favorite for the 2 seed but wouldn't be shocked at all to see the Bulls surpass them.

That is a great lineup.

Miami, Boston and Orlando still have better teams that would need 6 games at most to dispose of the Bulls.

the Bulls are gonna have a real solid team next year, for sure.

too bad its completely meaningless though as they (along with all but 2 teams in the league) have 0 chance to win.

So Kevin Garnet is that good? Lets not forget the Bulls took them to 7 games without Boozer, Korver, Brewer. Now you have them plus a better Noah and Rose. The Bulls split the series vs them last year with KG. So I don't see how the Celtics can beat the Bulls in 6.

3rd or 4th seed. 2 seed only if the magic experience injuries.

Bulls need to ditch Deng, and find themselves an All-Star caliber swingman.

They do that, and then I'll start paying attention.

I think it's pretty clear that splitting the season series with Boston last year means nothing, they coasted through most of the regular season.

I'm not sure why their 2009 playoff series is relevant. The Bulls had 7 rotation players in that series, and 5 of them are on different teams now. Outside of Rose and Noah it's a completely different team than the team that took Boston to 7.

Could you please post the stats of those 6 games. It's only 6 games, so it won't be too tedious. But include Dwight Howard's minutes played, Joakim's minutes played, and the score of the games.

First of all, I think you calculated wrong, and Noah has missed a few of the recent games or played very few minutes in some. Plus, in several of the recent games between Orlando and Chicago, Dwight played extremely short minutes because the Magic won the games by 20-30 points against the Bulls.

I would like to see which games you're referring to and the minutes played by each Howard and Noah.

who's gonna be their leader?

Rose? he's too young to lead them to any playoff success (see Brandon Roy)

Boozer? he is no leader and never will be

they need some kind of veteran leadership or they will always be out by 2nd round

The 2009 playoff series is relevant because this year's team is waaay better than that 2009 team.

You said they forced a game 7 without Brewer, Korver or Brewer, and yeah that is technically right, but it's not like you're taking the 2009 team and adding Korver, Brewer and Boozer. It's completely irrelevant, outside of Rose and Noah the 2011 Bulls will be completely different than the 2009 Bulls.

still no match for Cheat. without the moves of Boo&Brewer they would still make the playoffs as they ritually did in recent years. Having embellished the squad they're still one level behind the bar of Celtic and Magic, not to mention the Miami Cheat. So what the difference is? We stacked now looks more like a jinx to me TBH.

If the bulls would have saved their money for next year would they of had enough for Melo? If so that is what they should have done but there is no guarantee he would come.
