Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman). Carrie Fisher as Leia seems like the first mainstream action heroine role but her career sucked after that.

Milla Jovovich and Angelina Jolie are the ones getting action roles now but Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Catherine Zeta Jones, Halle Berry, Kate Beckinsale, etc made a lot of action flicks as well. Would not mind watching a version of "The Expendables" except with that cast :wow:wow

Not the first, just the latest. I like her action films, but she's a solid actress all-around, IMO. Wanted and Changeling were two of my favorites, because they were polar opposite movies in terms of tenor, yet she pulled off both roles almost simultaneously.
