It wouldn't really work to that extent. Many times both A gaps would be filled along with the B gap. When you tried to bounce it outside, the C gap would be waiting with a defender.

Tosses always work though, cut backs were golden in Madden 10.

if an opponent has each gap filled with an attacker, then its probably best to audible to a quick pass. again, that has nothing to do with the run blocking, rather the runner.

Normally, I play with the Raiders, so running is somewhat tough, due to a shit o-line, although I'm still able to usually average around 3-5 yards a carry each game, depending on how focused the opponent is on the run. however, when I play with a team like the Titans or Vikings, that average will go up to 5-7 yards per carry. And I don't have to abuse cheese tactics, like using goal-line formations every run, or using the broken Far-Tight Twins toss play.

Observing most people I play against, both in person and online, the biggest reason they cant run worth a crap is because they immedately start turboing instead of letting blockers get in place, or because they run on fronts that dont make sense to run on.

i think what people flip out at, is when they have 1 or 2 runs that get blown up in the backfield due to a missed blocking assignment, or due to a lineman getting beat by his defender, that suddenly the running game sucks.

it happens in real life. people mess up. on the other hand, there are times where a blocker pancakes 3 or 4 defenders in a row, or the RB breaks 4 or 5 tackles, and gets a 50 yard TD. shit happens.

I think Madden 10 overall has been the best Madden so far. the only things I really wished they would improve on, is the ability to be able to individually change how the defender defends (on PS2, you could chose to individually bump-n-run certain receivers, or to shade them to the left or right), and that you have more control over the players (i hate it when an animation causes you to run backwards or inadvertantly do a juke move for no reason at all, and lose yards on it, when you had an open running lane for a big gain). one other thing that would be nice is for dominant pass rushers to have a little more advantage. 4 man pass rushes, even with great pass rushing lines like the Colts and Vikings, dont get enough of an advantage.

It's not so much better run blocking as it is the new dual stick control. If you can do it right it's badass. I disagree about the defense though. I just played my friend who's really good and I'd never beat him before and won 31-17. And this guy dropped some 50-3 games on me in Madden 10. Seems like it's easier to throw the deep ball but harder to catch. I used the Colts and Packers in the two games I played and had pretty balanced stats both games, I just got jewed by the rain way to much in that first game and it made my D look bad.

seems like you fumble a shitload more than you ever have in madden. i can't count how many times i've been hit while throwing a pass and then the screen lights up at the bottom with FUMBLE. whichever raider fan madden developer thats still butthurt about the tuck rule game needs to be fired from EA over this. dont like it at all. doesn't happen as much running the ball but it does on kickoffs and punts which kinda sucks. played this guy earlier and somehow he blasted threw my kickoff coverage with no effort and then recovered a fumble when kicking it back to me and scored to put me in a 14-0 hole with only 30 seconds off the clock. it's like why even play when shitty game mechanics is going to jew you by two touchdowns before you even have a shot on offense.

I like to play with the MLB in past Maddens and its pretty worthless to do that in this game. Try playing as your DE and getting at the QB... it's pretty easy and I've forced a lot of people into bad passes that hit the ground or go nowhere near the target. Can't seem to figure out how to work that jew glitch that makes hitting the QB as he throws count as a fumble if it hits the ground in my favor even though it happens to me a lot (and shouldn't cuz I usually play with Manning). CB blitz owns the wildcat and QB rollout. Stacking the box is gonna get you raped if you use it too much to stop the run. Dollar defense has some good anti-run plays if you press your coverage otherwise they'll just audible on you and pass.

Just played a guy who was 41-0...he was the 49ers..just brought Willis right up to the line of scrimmage, and as soon as you hike the ball, there's no prayer...he runs right past your line, and your QB is sacked before he's even done dropping back...it was ridiculous. I could do nothing..couldn't pinch my line, block left, right, or aggressive..it was a done deal...

i hate that defense. i wish there was a way to like register the screen names of any faggots who do that shit and have it handy when you're in lobbies or doing head to head so you can avoid those faggots who can't play real d. tho if hes 41-0 hes prob not bad at offense either.

do some outside runs and HB screen passes. that will force him to stop nanoing you and change it up
