Yes or no - was every TO situation in 08 also greeted with the same "non-issue" responses?
I thought it was an issue. I was pissed cause I was saying to myself "Here we go again" after TO's track history. tbh, i already gave up hope for that season.
This time, I don't think it's an issue because it's a rookie who can be humbled by the vets even if it were to get out of hand. Like I said TO had a history of splitting locker rooms, Dez has yet to do that. If a rookie can wreck a team with something so stupid as not carrying another player's pads then we're not a superbowl team anyway

There is no possibility of that happening because of such strong leadership from the HC and the coaching staff.

Got damn, I leave to go on vacation and don't check anything for three days and I look this morning and this is the bullshit I find. I'm sick of shit always coming up with this team, how the fuck do you play football all your life and not know that you have to do this shit as a rookie? Roy didn't even ask him to do anything too bad, just carry some pads and this fucker still didn't do it. The veterans on this team need to make sure he gets the message - tie his ass up and tape him to the goal post for a few hours and make sure he gets the message. Fucking Wade needs to nut up and handle this shit too and make sure he knows that being a part of the team isn't like any other job, it requires you do these stupid things and take part.
Got damn, not even Marty B's stupid aggie ass did this shit. Fuck.
A rookie is a rookie. You take what you're given and shut your mouth. The only reason you can haze rookies for the rest of your career is because you had to go through it too.

guys he just didn't know :cry
Dez Bryant didn't know rookie traditions (http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/news/story?id=5413827)
SAN ANTONIO -- Dallas Cowboys (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=dal) rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=13215) said he didn't know about the tradition of carrying a veteran's shoulder pads, and said Tuesday that he will take care of the matter.
Speaking to reporters while he signed autographs following Tuesday morning's practice, Bryant said the media was trying to damage his relationship with teammate Roy Williams (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=5532).
From the opening practice, Williams had said Bryant has to carry his shoulder pads. But Bryant refused to do so, saying he's here to just play football.
"I didn't know nothing about no tradition," Bryant said. "The only thing about me ... when I try to do something right, ya'll try and turn it negative and I don't feel like that's right. I'm trying my best to do the right thing but it seems like I can't do the right thing because every little thing that I do ya'll watching it and try to make a big deal out of it."
On Monday afternoon, Bryant met with former NFL player and current television analyst Rodney Harrison (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=597), who said the rookie needs to carry the pads if asked by a veteran.
"I said this is a situation where this is a custom and a ritual that's been around before you were even born," Harrison said in recalling his conversation with Bryant. "I had to do it and everybody had to do it."
Bryant told Harrison he was disappointed in how the situation became public.
Williams and Bryant said the incident is over and there are no issues between them. One of owner Jerry Jones' grandsons carried Bryant's pads to the locker room and then helped Williams take his pads off following Tuesday morning's practice.
"In his defense, he said, 'You know Rod, I didn't know it would be blown up like this,' " Harrison said. "I told him, 'You're Dez Bryant and anything the media can do, they will do to make you look like a bad guy. You can't do this. You have to show humility and walk up to him and say, I'm going to carry your pads.' He said it's not going to be a problem. It's nipped in the bud. It's a done deal."
If Bryant doesn't carry Williams' shoulder pads, then he will take Williams out to dinner during a break in camp.
"We'll make sure that's no problem ... maybe McDonald's," Williams said.
The issue between Bryant and Williams apparently occurred when the veteran first approached him. Bryant didn't like Williams' tone and -- combined with the fact he didn't know about carrying pads -- that led to the confusion.
"We're fine. It's not even a situation," Bryant said. "Me and Roy is great. Not only me and Roy, but the whole team. Ya'll trying to turn us against each other."
:cry great fucking ignorance

So, to summarize:
- Dez Bryant is a punk and a diva
- Roy Williams is a pussy who doesn't have anybody's respect
- Jerry Jones is so madly in love with Dez Bryant that he is considering emblazoning Dez Bryant's face on Cowgirl helmets, replacing the star
- Wade Philips is a spineless lapdog who recites Jerrah's instructions in press conferences
- 90210 is still a clueless homer
- The Cowgirls won't sniff an SB any time soon, so the only thing worth watching is how much the Dallas media and fans vilify Dez Bryant when the Cowgirls make their inevitable annual exit from contention

You are pretty accurate on all points except for the last one. As much as I hate Cowboys fans, I think the team is stacked at almost every area except for offensive line and the secondary. I think they have what it takes to make it to the Super Bowl, and personally I predict them to come out of the NFC, but the only thing that can stop that is their lack of head coaching leadership and the lack of character this team has as a whole. There are some head strong guys on the roster like Ware, Witten and that Brooking douchebag, but I don't know if their leadership is enough to overcome their lack of character from the likes of Roy William, Dez Bryant, and that dude that raps and shows off his dick. And as proven before a single cancer in the locker room can destroy everything and those guys mentioned previously have what it takes to be a cancer of that sort.

That's the problem. If a guy has even a little bit of talent JJ is willing to risk the entire team chemistry and have them face a distraction rather than be a strict disciplinarian. I'm not saying showing off your dick to some chick is worth getting cut but it's the type of mentality to put up with a lot of bullshit for little reward is what can destroy this team.

I agree with you. If I was in charge I'd have him cut by now. It's not even the naked picture incident. He's already
-Made a youtube video with a profanity-laced freestyle with a Cowboys helmet on ($20,000 fine)
-Showed up in a youtube video dressed up as Bin Laden (IMO should've been gone after that)
-Made a black olympics youtube video
-Had some corny "MartyB TV" shit that the team made him shut down

Tbh Bennett is a freak talent so I can see why Jones keeps him since he isn't a cancer, he's just lazy. If he ever got his head on straight and focused on football Dallas would have such an undefendable two TE formation.

Dallas won't top Washington this year.
I expect a good whuppin to be put on the boys, Game ONE!
The Cowboy O-line is very suspect...and Superbowls are won in the trenches.
It's not Snyderatto, Zorn, and Jason Campbell at the helm anymore.
Expect an attacking 3-4 defense to put Romo on his back when it counts.
Rivalry...RESUMED.

I'll concede to a rookie at LT, Trent Williams, needing to be the anchor. I feel they will gel as the season progresses...but McNabb will make them look better than Jason Campbell would. And Shanihan is going to lean on the run heavily. He made water into wine with every RB he had in Denver and I anticipate a repeat performance. It's not like Clinton Portis is chop liver fellas, and he is rededicated this year along with the whole team.
We also anticipate Brian Westbrook joining the team as our 3rd down back pretty soon, but we'll see what happens.
The LG is Dockery who is solid. Our C is a veteran, a bit light in the ass, but a solid vet, Rabach, that can get it done. Our RG was a FA pickup, Artis Hicks from the Vikings, and our RT is Jammal Brown who we got from the Saints in June. Probowl talent.
I have to agree that depth is a concern, but you don't build a solid and deep Oline in one offseason after it's been ignored for years. So I'll pray for health.
As for the wideouts, you just haven't heard of them because our previous QB couldn't make them shine. Devin Thomas is a breakout star waiting to happen. Our vet speedster, I think you heard of him, Santana Moss...we just call him the Cowboy killa.
Don't forget our TE Cooley and our up and coming TE Fred Davis. This duo is going to help our Wideouts give your secondary nightmares.
The whole Redskins organization has a huge chip on their shoulder that they are itching to knock off. Other than Albert Haynesworth, the Redskins are a TEAM for the first time since Gibbs left, and maybe even more so, as they finally have a vocal leader at QB now that can get the job done and walk the walk.
We do not have a shutdown corner and our free safety spot is kinda up for grabs in my opinion, but the Skins are comin for you. The goal is to win a Superbowl in your house, and the whole team believes they can do it.
Good luck with Coach Wade who all of you darn well know is in his last year before Jerruh brings in a top flight coach. :tu

:tu
6 wins at best, last in the division. Still an improvement! :tu

yeah, me too...i'm hoping it was just to recover from an injury and that it was proscribed medication.
i don't know that the nfl tests for hgh yet...do they?
if not, they are just inviting this crap...I'm all for an even playing field.

OK, I'am taking back my post about the subject. I went to the 3:15 training camp to check it out and Dez went all out every play and almost pulled down some one handers. Williams on the other hand would catch the ball going out of bounds and then throw it down before he hit the ground so he wouldn't fall.
Carry your own pads bitch.

Dez has Roy's starting spot in his sights. I wonder if Roy thought about that when he told Bryant to carry his pads or when he cried about it to the local media. Wonder if Roy actually has the balls to go to "Step 2".

Roy's happy about that. He doesn't have to pretend to go full speed in practice anymore.
