short summary: Manu is surprisingly effective and is still underrated.

When he is "on", Manu Ginobili is virtually unstoppable.

Manu Ginobili pulled off a rare double last season -- he was the league's most efficient high-usage guy vs. the top 5 defenses and the bottom 5 defenses! How amazing is that?

Not too shabby especially considering he started off the season with rusty shooting due to his lengthy NBA absence. Also interesting to see George Hill having a high offensive rating against top 10 defenses as well.

Interesting to see Kobe fall off these stats but he has been declining unless you watch the game through Jack Nicholson's sunglasses. He's been playing way too much basketball in recent years and I expect him to continue falling with that knee surgery this summer. Compare that to Pau Gasol whose offensive rating was topping the charts against both the top and bottom defenses of the league, damn that Kwame Brown collusion trade bullshit :) :lol

The past several years, LeBron, Manu and D-Wade have been among the top producers. They are also great crunch-time producers.

Here is what is sick. Three of the top 5 producers are all on the same team now.

Best producers vs. top-10 Ds according to Offensive SPM:

Rank Player MP OSPM...............Rank Player MP OSPM
1 LeBron James 1440.2 9.47......11 Marcus Thornton 553.0 4.48
2 Manu Ginobili 620.9 8.55........12 Chauncey Billups 897.7 4.42
3 Dwyane Wade 1223.2 6.45.....13 Carmelo Anthony 814.0 4.04
4 Brandon Roy 606.6 6.40.........14 Kobe Bryant 1313.2 3.91
5 Chris Bosh 951.7 6.09............15 Corey Maggette 717.9 3.87
6 Deron Williams 1087.1 5.93.....16 Russell Westbrook 981.8 3.52
7 Dirk Nowitzki 1226.4 5.47.......17 Joe Johnson 1660.1 3.22

with one ball to share...

Very true.

In games that actually end up going down to the wire, I doubt Mario Chalmers will be taking a Final Four type 3-point shot.

Wow, Manu is fucking nuts. How he is still overrated with his style of play, and the "efficiency" of his game, along with the fact he isn't the fastest or strongest or most athletic, but doesn't let that stop him, continues to amaze. Small town teams trump all, obviously.
