I played it. I liked it. Gorgeous game outside of the cutscenes. Far and away the best lighting I've ever seen in a game.
I took a month long break right in the middle though and I think I would've enjoyed it more had I not done that. It's definitely not an RPG. I haven't played Silent Hill, but the game is creepy because of the atmosphere it creates. Sometimes, it quits trying to scare you and goes for all-out badass combat sections. I thought it was a way cool game.

this is one of my best friends and is a very respectful & down-to-earth dude. you are way off with your assumption that he is anything close to a "tool".
plus yall are just sad because most likely you're all a bunch of fuckin' losers who can't hold a torch to me or my friends.
good luck hating! i bet people hated on all of yall in school and probably still do to this day... looks like the internet is your only solace. fuckin' pathetic dickheads!

The scenery as mentioned before is beautiful but the combat gets old very quick IMO....you battle darkness so you hit them with a flashlight first then shoot twice and repeat... there of course are harder enemies but generally thats what you'll have to do. I still had fun with the game and enjoyed how it was episodic

Spoiler alert
TBH, I agree. Although given the story and some of the other things the game brought to the table, I thought it was decent enough. And some of the tighter combat sequences (like the fight on the stage) were excellent, IMO. In general though, a lot of the fights were redundant. I tried to keep it fresh by employing a lot of slow motion dodges and tried to vary what weapons/light sources I used, if not flat out trying to get to checkpoints using as little as possible. In short, I tried to be stylish. I'd imagine the combat could also be improved by turning the difficulty up; plus that way you get the extra manuscript pages.
TBH, I really wanted to get into this game and I'm disapointed that I couldn't. The combat was just too boring to me that I couldn't maintain interest in it. Traded it in a couple days ago.
Game is kinda like a silent hill.. without being scary or creepy.

Horror games have gone to shit lately. Hoping the new Silent Hill brings the genre back to life but not holding my breath.
