yeah he needs as much time as he can get with Romo so this kinda sucks. Hopefully its only for 4 weeks and not 6. I heard he was standing on it afterwards so thats a good sign.

Man you Cowboys fans can cry me a river. We just lost our number 1 CB today with a torn ACL for the season. No idea when/if Reed is coming back. And our two other starting CB's are BOTH coming back from major knee surgery and really have no clue as to how they are going to respond. We are screwed. Well okay, look at this way Cowboys fans, our starting safety in all likelihood will be Ken Hamlin. Oh and the Bengals just signed T.O. Great news in Ravensnation this week. :rolleyes

All this Dez Bryant nonsense is cute. Shouldn't you let this Deion loving sack-licker make a few catches before you start melting down?

It's too bad the injury isn't career ending, tbh

Nathan Explosion

Wonder if Crayton did a secret fist pump. Anyway, losing Dez doesn't hurt the Cowboys because he hasn't done anything for the Cowboys. If he had gone out and had 5 TD catches in 3 games and then sprained his ankle in Game 4, then we'd have a problem.

Until then, business as usual.

Well, it didn't take long for Jerry to play the part of the meddling asshole. Never fails. Just at least give the impression that the moron you hired has some teeth.

Jerry Jones coddling of Dez is hilarious. They are working him too hard. lol

badfish22

They might have been. Most reps out of anyone in practice tbh. First team special teams and first team offense.

Nathan Explosion
07-31-2010, 05:04 PM
Rook doesn't want to carry the pads, he gets it in other ways. You think the vets are crying that he's being worked too hard, especially since Wade usually doesn't have tackling in his camp and the Boys are indoors in a temperature controlled facility?

It sucks that he got hurt, but to claim he's being worked too hard, for a rookie that showed up a vet that, while he's underperformed (to say the least), still has more career catches, yards and TDs than Bryant, is ludicrous.

Earn your role on this team Dez. If the coach says, "Go return punts" then do it. If the coach says, "Go take a spot on the first team so I can rest a vet" then do it. If the coach says "Get me some water" (ala Parcells) then do it.

I liked it when Parcells wouldn't let the rookies have stars on their helmet because he insisted they hadn't earned it yet. Dez was a talented, talented college player. But this is the NFL.

The Cowboys are a damn good team as is, so like I said, they won't miss a beat right now. When he comes back, he has to show he can improve this team before I start saying, "Fuck, Dez went down. Now what?"

badfish22
07-31-2010, 05:12 PM
What the fuck are you talking about, Dez did everything the coaches told him to do. And what does the pad thing have to do with ths?
Its not crazy to say that Dez being tired lead to his injury, it didi occur on the last play of practice.

Nathan Explosion
07-31-2010, 05:13 PM

I wasn't there to see it, but I don't fatigue had anything to do with it. It was probably the corner that fell on his ankle that caused the injury, or so says the description of the play.

I'm hoping the Cowboys get to the Super Bowl and experience some Dez Bryant drops on big 3rd downs, sponsored by Pierre Garcon's Rookie Season.

I have a feeling Dez is gonna try to come back too early and fuck himself up more.

"I feel great" crofl no you dont, you a day removed from a high ankle sprain.
"It's no disappointment, im fine."

Bryant, who had to be helped off the field by two trainers, was seen standing on his own power in the locker room area after practice.

They wanted three trainers to help but the third guy informed them that he wasn't there to carry rookies off the field.

lol training camp.

He'll probably be back by week 1 or the last preseason game, where he will take time to get adjusted to the NFL and not produce much until later in the season. Although, if he's really as great as the coaches and DC.com are making him out to be, then he'll still make plays right from the start.

I'm just glad we have some interesting stuff to look forward to. TBH this might help take down his built up ego from Jerrah acting like 10 yr old girl around Miley Cirus with this kid. Leave it to jerrah to do the wrong thing.

Obstructed_View

It's not exactly like WR is a huge position of need for the Cowboys, folks. This is probably the best thing that could happen to temper some of the hysterical hype surrounding the kid and put some focus back on the rest of the team.

Nathan Explosion
08-01-2010, 08:32 PM
The guy has the talent to help the team do great things, no doubt. But just because he went down doesn't mean the whole season is sunk.

If he explodes out of the gate, then gets injured like in Week 9 when the Boys are making a playoff push, then we can panic. But it's preseason, and we don't even know if he's going to be good or not. So calm down a bit.
