Nah, Boyz in the Hood is a modern classic that dick slaps Menace II Society. Although, they're both awesome, Boyz is the O.G. and is much better.(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)

In all seriousness, no one should ever remake a classic, but films that had much hyped but ended being a disappointment should be redone.

Matrix Reloaded and Revolution could have been much better imo.

The Last Airbender, again great potential, fucked it up.

Kill Bill, not because I want to redo the first 2, but I want to add a 3rd one. The revenge of Bill's long lost son.

Instead of the Blue People becoming as vicious and violent as the Army/Corporate greedpigs, have the Blue People turn the animals on them at the beginning of their provocation, not the end.

The animals are wiping out the Corporate Army threat and a good number of Army soldiers decided the Corporate Pig Cause is bogus and surrender to the Blue People. Thus Blue World is returned to it's peace loving state. New Avatar guy Jake Sully marries blue chick Neytiri and they have 14 kids.

The Spurs sign Jake Sully to play PF and the Army of Stoopid Pop Apologists mourn the benching of Soft Dick and Matty Bonner.

Forrest Gump is definitely one of the movies that you'll never feel tired of no matter how many times they've been remade. The only difficulty IMHO is you can hardly find anyone capable of acting this role as well as Tom Hanks did and Tom Hanks is too old for this role already.

I have heard that they were contemplating a 'sequel' trilogy, but I don't know if it was centered on that series or not. If they did do a sequel trilogy, but if they decided to recast the characters, who would you pick to play Han, Luke, etc.?

I'm kind of afraid they'd do Ben Affleck as Solo and Matt Damon as Luke. They do have the camaraderie aspect down, I guess.

I'm not a fan of either actor. I'm not sure who could be re-cast for the original trilogy characters but I would like some unknowns in the roles...no well known stars. They would have to be middle-aged if they were to continue the characters right after ROTJ.

Having grown up in the Los Angeles area during the time both films were made, and being very well acquainted with the people/lifestyle depicted, it's Boyz N the Hood that feels like a caricature. Especially after almost 20 years. Which is not to say it's a bad film, mind you. I don't think it has aged very well in certain regards (all that rayon is just a bad junior high flashback anymore), but it is very well made/acted.

Kane and O-Dogg just seem like one-dimensional comic book characters. Doughboy is portrayed the same except in the view of those closest to him: Tre and Rick. When Dough is around them he doesn't have to front and can act like a real person, but to everyone else he's portrayed just like the characters in Menace II Society, as the asshole starting shit with crackheads, pulling out his gun when bloods walk by and run their mouths, disrespecting every woman in sight, and so on.

Plus, MC Eiht as a gangster seems like a stretch; I loved it when DJ Quik killed him on wax for taking the G out his name. :lol

I would have said Dreamscape ironically but its plot is way too similar to Inception so that's not going to happen. Truthfully, I think Hollywood is too busy planning Paul Blart sequels to remake a cult sci fi classic like that. Instead of an updated Time Bandits as well, we'll get Paul Blart 2: The Return of Blart, Paul Blart: Rent A Cop, and Paul Blart 3: Federal Blarshall.

The fact that you didn't include a Blart sequel in your list that is set in outerspace is a massive oversight and a disrespect to "Jason X", "Critters 4:Critters in Space", "Muppets from Space", and of course "Leprechaun 4: In Space".
