I had no choice but to pick Clyde the Glide at SG. I wanted the best defensive team but the SG spot didn't have an outstanding player at defense.

David Robinson or Hakeem - can't decide who would fit better. Or who is better. Either way, this team would win multiple championships if they had a decent bench.

Surprising that no one person has picked Jabbar so far. You can match his resume against anyone's and the skyhook was virtually unstoppable.

I think it would depend on the rules you're playing with and the competition, tbh.
If I'm going with Stock at the point I'd want a dominant post-scorer, a la Shaq or Olajuwon. But if I go with Oscar I'd rather have Dave's D combined with his face-up game to keep the lane open for Robertson and probably Payton as well.
Pettit is before my time and it's hard for me to envision him being the type of athlete of modern day, but is it fair to judge on that criteria or how much better he was than his opposition?
And if you've got a great first line of defense 1-2 or 3, with Olajuwon as your anchor, Dirk would be pretty disgusting alongside Hakeem . . .
Edit: Yeah, Cap would fall into that dominant post-scorer as well.

Stockston
West
Pippen
Garnett
Olajuwon
You get great shooting options, versatile defense in the frontcourt, some clutch ability from Stockton/West/Olajuwon, dominant rebounding and shot-blocking, great size and athleticism in the frontcourt, great pic-n-roll twixt Stockton and Garnett, good low post in Olajuwon, and three players that can create off the dribble from the wings.
You can't just have scoring, but need some consistent shooting. This lineup maximizes skills, puts an incredibly versatile lineup out for both ends of the floor, and doesn't sacrifice much offense or defense to do so.

I'd like to have:
Stockton
West
Pippen
Olajuwon
Jabbar
Don't tell me Hakeem couldn't play the PF . . .

It's a great idea... Maybe an early NBA Olajuwon who played next to Sampson and not the prime Hakeem?

When you think about it, how much different are Duncan and Olajuwon's areas of operation offensively? I'd say not that much and Hakeem was most definitely a superior athlete, so I don't see him having trouble guarding the 4.
I don't think he'd be quite as good at the 4 as Duncan but I don't think he'd be that far off in this day and age. I'd personally take him at the 4 over KG if I were given the option.

You would assume a 'Godly' player would be chosen on every single team thus far in this thread. Thats not the case :lol
