Newly Included General Rules and Notes:

I recommend you get there 15-25 minutes early to make sure your connection and draft software are working properly. You never know for certain, so take precautions. The draft starts on Yahoo's clock. I cannot stop it. I will not edit auto picks. If you think you might be late, at least rank your players for the first 4 rounds.Expect this draft to last somewhere between 3-4 hours. Everyone is permitted to use any or all of the allotted time to make their picks. Plan accordingly.

Additionally in in-season play, I will not be inputting or changing your starting lineups. These are your responsibility to take care of beforehand. Don't call or text me asking to set your lineups on Sunday (If you're unable to access the web prior to Sunday and would like me to set your lineup, I will do so.). Do call me or text me if there is something wrong with the Yahoo software. If you're trying to set your lineup with 7 minutes or less before game time and it doesn't go through, this is not a software problem. This means you waited to late to make your changes. We go by Yahoo's time, not the clock on your computer.

With lineups, I've also experienced problems with owners who do not set their lineups, leaving in bye week players, players that are 100% out (absolutely, positively no chance of playing), or outright empty slots. DO NOT LET THIS BE YOU. This is harmful to the entire league. As long as you play a player with even a remote chance of playing (any chance of playing whatsoever), you are fine. If I see you start a player that has 100%, absolutely no possibility of playing 3 times, you're banned from the league. You will still be able to finish the season. I will send a warning notice to you the 1st and 2nd times. This is an ultra competitive league. If you aren't setting your lineups, then you're not being competitive and hurting the league and will be banned.
In the event of league disputes of any kind, the matter will be in my sole discretion. I have complete authority to resolve a dispute in any fashion I so choose. This means I may send the matter for league vote, I may observe 3rd party opinions, and/or I may unilaterally make the decision.

Controlling League Laws

If anyone breaks the 2 rules below, you're banned for life. You also forfeit any prize money you earn.

No owner may drop or "dump" players from their team for any reason other than improving their own team or its standing within the league.
No owner will engage in any action that might be deemed to be collusive (two or more owners agreeing to make moves that benefit one team, but not the other).

#2, dumping players, has been a problem in a few leagues I've played recently. Do not decide to unload your roster one Saturday because you just feel like it. There's no need to explain why not, just don't ever dump your roster or your star players, etc.

Nope. I hope the $25 and $50 leagues fill up, last year we only had 10 in the $25 league so hopefully the word gets out more. These are fun and very competitive leagues!

I can do the draft any evening with notice as long as its after 7:10 central.

I can do it pretty much anytime on the weekends. After the 23rd my time will be much more limited (I can still do these times though).

6 playoff teams? can that be changed? when anyone can have an obscenely good or bad week, any week, letting half the teams into the playoffs turns the whole thing into a crap-shoot.

Fantasy Football is always a crap shoot where anyone can be bad or good one week. Our leagues have it so the top 2 teams get bye weeks in the first round so a strong regular season record is rewarded. If you finish 3rd or 4th, you have to earn your way to the next round. (BTW had to email Yahoo because I didn't see where I could adjust playoffs for by weeks.)

We've traditionally had 6 team playoffs and it's worked for us.

If this doesn't meet your personal criteria for FF and you want to play somewhere else, I completely understand.

I never heard any mention of this. Why would the $250 draft not be randomized? It's a redraft league.

We're keeping it random. You're always welcome to trade draft picks.

Just as an aside - in theory, there's no fair way to be non-random about a redraft. For one, we never have the entire league return so that would alter things on multiple levels. Secondly, the league starts over every year so no value carries over.

I didn't realize you'd won #1 pick twice in a row on your way to titles. While it's obviously a boost to get major talent, you would never have won if not for some great later picks and good team management.

I don't understand the first part of this. I know it's not the most convenient time for you, but the league is full and I did the best I could with the information given. Like I said, I can't accommodate everyone. If you can't make the draft, I completely understand.

When will we know the official draft order for the 250 league?

My next steps (for all leagues) are to:

1) Determine who has paid/not paid and create a list of that.
2) Send out memo to everyone affirming dates/times of draft.
3) Confirm payment is being sent from everyone.
4) Give out league registration info to everyone.
5a) Send out $25/$50 Draft order
5b) Fill in last $250 spot
6) Send out $250 order

This is the draft randomizer (http://www.net-commish.com/tools/random/index.php) I use to shuffle and email the picks.

I'd like to send out draft order before payments, but that's probably not a good idea on my part. With 3 12 team leagues, there will always be 1, maybe 2 people that have a way of keeping me in limbo until week 6 or 7 with me having to constantly pressure them for the money. I hate that situation. Moral of the story: Please pay your league dues now and get it over with. If I personally know you and you need to wait until next paycheck, that's fine but pm/email me first and let me know when exactly you'll send.

I hope this process can play out over the next 1-2 days and we can finish way early this year.

The guy I can't get a fantasy grasp on is Calvin Johnson.

I'm certain if he played in New Orleans, Indy or New England that he would be a top 10 pick, but I'm not sure if he is as high as 2nd round talent or as low as late 3rd/early 4th.....
