Universidad de Chile 0-2 Chivas Guadalajara (Agg: 1- 3): Mexicans Reach First Libertadores Final

http://www.goal.com/en/match/48485/universidad-de-chile-vs-chivas-guadalajara/report

Chivas is the second Mexican team to reach the final of Copa Libertadores. Cruz Azul reached the final in 2001 but lost on penalty kicks to Boca Juniors. Chivas now waits for the winner between Brazilian teams Sao Paulo and Internacional.

now we'll see if they have what it takes to win it all :tu

They defeated a quality team that the post WC hangover caught them inadvertently...

Argentine soccer will take years to recover from the 4-0 anal pounding from Germany, the rest of south america besides brasil is pretty vulnerable and mediocre

São Paulo or Inter will be the favorites IMO. São Paulo is pretty bad right now but they lost only by one goal: they can reverse the situation at home.

sorry Uru, but how do you figure U de Chile is a quality team? The matches I've seen are quite atrocious and it seems to me they were lucky to even make quarters, let alone semis.

Chivas I havent seen enough to comment, but I would call U de Chile's semis appearance a fluke.

Also, I'd say inter are favorites but you never know.

Guadalajara will sorely miss one of the primary reasons why it got that far to begin with...

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez

What sucks for them is that the first leg of the final is going to be held the same day as the "Mexico vs. Spain" game.... edit: (nevermind I see that there were no NT players called up from Chivas for that game due in part to this scheduling conflict)... and as much as I dislike his game on the NT level, "El Venado" Medina will be sorely missed by his club (I believe he's nursing a severe high-ankle sprain suffered against Manchester United...)

Seriously? I mean I've heard of fans of losing teams spit on the players of the winning team, but the other way around? WTF?

My bad that was the initial report. Now Omar Bravo said that it was a person dressed as a reporter or whatever, basically someone licensed to be on the field that went up to Fabian and spit on him

it's me

Reaching the final is an accomplishment in itself, and they did it with no foreigners on the team.
