Blair, Spurs coming to Pittsburgh for preseason game (http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/college/s_691763.html)
By John Grupp, PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Former Pitt star DeJuan Blair is coming home.
Blair and the San Antonio Spurs are slated to play the Cleveland Cavaliers in a preseason NBA game in mid-October at Petersen Events Center, according to multiple sources.
The official date will be announced when the NBA preseason schedules are released in mid-August.
Blair starred for two seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, earning first-team All-American status as a sophomore in 2008-09. He was a second-round pick of the Spurs and averaged 7.8 points and 6.4 rebounds while earning second-team All-NBA Rookie honors.
This will be the third consecutive year the Cavs have played a preseason game at the Pete, and the sixth time in the past seven years they have played in Pittsburgh. Last October, the Cavs won, 96-66, over the Dallas Mavericks, owned by Mt. Lebanon native Mark Cuban.
The 6-foot-8, 265-pound Blair, who graduated from Schenley High School, should provide additional drawing power for the game as the Cavaliers begin life in the post-LeBron James era.
