I really do wish a building sized asteroid would just fly out from behind the moon and crush whatever offices the WSJ currently occupies.

The Summer of 2010 is Wrecking Golf Courses

The sustained record-breaking heat across much of the U.S. this summer, combined with high humidity and occasional heavy rain, is killing the greens on many golf courses. A handful of high-profile courses have already had to close, and if the heat continues, others are likely to follow.

What's the Next 'Global Warming'?
So global warming is dead, nailed into its coffin one devastating disclosure, defection and re-evaluation at a time. Which means that pretty soon we're going to need another apocalyptic scare to take its place.
Like the death of the country club?

And before any chukaluks come in here and call me a hypocrite for yesterday, ripping people apart for calling golf a non-sport: I would simply say that I love golf and I think it's a great sport and that if it takes its collapse to make dumbass Republicans pull their heads out of their ample asses, then so be it.

In other words, I love golf, but not near as much as I hate republicans.

On a somewhat related note about golf being expensive to play and elitist...

If the rich guys don't have enough money to go golfing, they don't have enough money to create jobs and keep the economy growing.

They were left out the op because the WSJ didn't just write a thousand word story on sustained record breaking heat causing the ruination of communal burial grounds.

And because I haven't watched that video for like 3 years, including before posting it. Nor do I agree with it. I just thought it made for a convenient in. Given the context.
