Oh, I'm thinking Minny gets this one.

Kurt Rambis gonna be feeling the hot seat come December. Which will come in handy with that Minneapolis winter.

Nets will be better.

Cavs may be a trendy pick to suck but I think they fight around .500 and quite possibly could even grab 45 wins if things break right. Byron Scott could well get COY for pulling the "miracle" of the Cavs not sucking. Kind of like how Doc Rivers won COY for his job with the 41-41 Magic in 2000, which was pretty ridiculous IMO.

They will be one of them. They have very limited talent, a whiner in Mo Williams and Lebron ripped their hearts out.

I think the LeBron factor will work the opposite way. It will motivate them. This is a team full of guys with a lot to prove. I know Byron Scott has gotten ripped by plenty of fans (and Kidd) but I think he's a decent coach and will know how to keep them focused and using that us-against-them mentality to make the team stronger.

Motivation only goes so far though, you need talent to win games. Fortunately for Cleveland, they do have talent -- the supporting cast was way underrated. Varejao, Moon, Jamison were all very good players last year and Parker, Hickson, and Mo were pretty good themselves. Losing LeBron hurts big time, of course... he's probably a loss of 25 wins all by himself. But they also ditched their worst performer in Z so that helps a bit in mitigating the loss of Shaq and West who both were helpful.

You said it yourself. Probably Mo, then Jamison. Hickson should get some serious run this year and a chance to prove whether he deserves the love the FO gave him.

We'll have a chance to see whether they can win "like that" or not.

You do realize that this is a thread on the worst team next year, right? So if the average is that one or two teams wins less than 21 games per season, and some are claiming that the Cavs will win less than 21 games . . . this makes perfect sense.

I can't see how the Cavs will be able to do a damn thing next season. No Shaq, no Big Z, and no Lebron. They're fucked. And all the Lebron haters will realize just how much Lebron was completely carrying that team and why he got tired of having to do that shit night after night, never to win a title, just so some pasty fucking schleps in the cold-ass witches teat that is northeastern Ohio can feel a bit better about their shitty lives. I'm sorry, what was the question?

Cavs are gonna suck, Raptors are gonna suck (but Bargnani and Ed Davis might mean they're not the NBA's worst,) the Wolves are gonna suck, but the Nets aren't going to suck as bad as people think they are. Derrick Favors and Brook Lopez is a sick PF/C combo, Devin Harris had an off year, but he's a legit starter with starbility. Terrence Williams got through his rookie year and he has a good amount of upside, and Courtney Lee can score. Travis Outlaw and Anthony Morrow are a good start coming off the bench. Jordan Farmar however, is Jordan Farmar...

Jamison lead a similar terrible Wizards team to like 40 wins a couple years back. The Cavs still play D, rebound and Mo can give you about 17-18 and 6 assists like he did for the Bucks. Anyone calling them a low 20 win team is pretty much a retard.

I bet they make at least the 4th seed....

If either of us is wrong, bet is off....

If the Spurs are within the 10 worst teams in the west at the end of the regular season, I will take a sig and avatar of your choice until the begining of the next season....

I'm sorry, what was the question?

And...? As it turns out, the worst team in the league often finishes with 21+ wins.

Do people really think LeBron is worth 40-45 wins all by himself?

Sorry, there has never been a player with that level of skill. Not even Jordan ever approached that.

Like I said elsewhere: Losing LeBron means losing 25 or so wins? Sure. That is reasonable. Losing Shaq and West will hurt a bit too. They were valuable contributors. Losing Z will be addition by subtraction -- he was pretty bad last year.

There is a danger in that several of their key pieces -- Jamison and Parker -- will be 35 next season. Both of them were valuable last year and could decline. If that happens, they'd better hope that Hickson can really step up next year and offset it. I would hope Byron Scott would recognize that Moon deserves playing time, something Mike Brown seemed incapable of grasping.

T'Wolves lost Jefferson, Gomes and Session for Beasley, Tolliver and Ridnour.

They are terrible still.

New Jersey... signed, Outlaw, Farmar and James May?!?! Quality signings...lol

Yi, Hinrich and Wall won't have that much of an impact in Washington either. Unless Arenas actually plays, there will be little improvement.

I agree with you about Byron Scott, some fans complain about him, but I really can't when Kidd was the one who got him fired and Kidd has gotten other coaches fired as well. So I think Byron Scott is the best coach for the Cavs, maybe not the best coach in the NBA, but I could see Cavs being really good and making it at least to the second round in the playoffs with him as coach

Basketballgirl25

sorry people, Nets won't have the worst record this year, if you didn't watch last year then you won't know half the players got hurt half the time so they never really had a full team and most of those players are gone, I'm not saying your winning it all, but we deff won't be like last year and if we are at least I can say Nets aren't a team trying to win enough games to make the playoffs and then lose year after year and are actually trying to win in the end, sometimes waiting pays off more them overpaying crappy players other teams signed

It's nothing against the Cavs. They just don't have the talent, balance or leadership. It's to be expected when you lose a player the caliber of Lebron.

I just can't believe these LA fans are so desperate to prop up Kobe that they say these wild things.

I guess in hindsight, it was crazy to say a team will be 40 wins worse, but when you looked at their team, it didn't seem that crazy.

Well that's just it.

It isn't just talent, though. I don't think the Cavaliers teams of the mid-90's (Brandon, Phills, Mills) were that much better than this one talent-wise. Yet those were competitive teams.

The psychological baggage as well as the lack of talent is what is killing this team. It's no coincidence that this slide into hell began the night LeBron came back to Cleveland.

This team as currently constructed, without LeBron having played here, would be better. Not good, but better.
