To be honest, I had to look up chanclas. It makes sense now.
At first I was thinking that it might be something gross like a Cincinatti Bowtie or a Hot Carl but I didn't want to comment until I knew for sure.

I didn't like the idea at first but the more time goes on, the more I think Tony Parker for Chris Paul would be a good trade. I think mentally TP has already moved on.

What does this have to do with G. Hill and his two long socks?

And in two years, the spurs would be shopping for a point guard. PASS!!

It's better than shopping for a point guard in 1 year.

What on Earth do you base this on? Maybe you could change your handle to "cantthinkofanythingsoIwontwasteeveryonestimebypost ing".

I base this on the fact that I think Tony has lost a step and may not be that motivated to play in San Antonio. It looks more and more like he will be leaving after this season to look for a max contract and/or in a large market city.

Chris Paul is a better defender and by far a better passer. He may not be quite as quick as Tony but he gets into the lane and gets his own shot just as well. He's much better at shooting the threes.

Paul's attitude and on court personna bug the shit out of me but I'd rather have him for 2 years than TP for 1 year.

So you base it on pure conjecture on your part. To say Tony has lost a step before he steps on the court this year is premature at best. He was injured last year and hadn't had the summer to rest. He is 28 years old and should be in his prime. Tony may indeed want a max contract. Who wouldn't, but the uncertainty of a new CBA makes it a crap shoot for him. I fully expect the Spurs to announce sometime during the season an extension under the max. Now I would trade Tony for Paul straight up any day. But NO would never do that with the possible exception if they do think they are going to lose Paul and the Spurs have already signed him to an extension. Even with that the trade probably doesn't happen until next year.

I think he came into last season heavier than the year before and slower.
Before the injury. I agree that the injury probably never let him get into full playing shape and we never saw him at 100%. He also has a strong incentive with his contract being up to come into this season in as good a shape possible. I'm not saying that he would be a great player this year. My assumption was that we are going to lose him after this season.

I'm sure your analysis is right on NO not wanting to do that deal. Unless we add a younger player that would be there for a while. I think if got Paul, we legitimatly opened our window wider for two more years than with Tony.

Anyway, did you hear about Hill wearing 2 long socks this year?
