By the way the roster looks, it doesn't seem like any of the players are pushing weights around in the weight room.

They use paper weights.

Actually, a lot of players do not like to get bulked up as it messes with their shot and can make them stiff on the court.

They use the weight room, they use a speed ladder, they use John Lucas Hill, they use Nutrifit supplements, they do basketball drills. What type of appearance do you want from a professional basketball player? If you want them all to look like Dwight Howard, then they may end up shooting like Dwight Howard.

Look at Kevin Durant. You dont need to look like a body builder to be a good bball player. Raw muscle mass actually does llittle for sports.

Muscle doesn't mean SUCCESS in sports, specifically in bball. Resistance training is a must, but not a warranty. Bruce Lee had one of the most powerful body, without bulky muscle, he had just lean sculpt body.

Just see my boy Tito Trinidad, he is one of the most devastating power puncher in the history of boxing, compared to Ray Robinsons punching power, and Tito's is skinny like hell. His arms are like thin fideos.

In the other hand, i think strong shoulders are required to surpass the test of time. Too much collisions, contacts, and abrupt movement can damage shoulders quickly in bball, especially post players, and slashers.

Timmy is and will be the best PF ever and he hasn't barely 15% of DHoward, Malone, D.Robinson muscles

If all they did was a lot of pushing, they would probably come out looking pretty unbalanced. I'd recommend some pulling also.

I have actually seen thier weight room I can say, with certainty, they use it. They are actually quite detailed in which muscles & what exercises they do from day-to-day.
So, the answer to your question is that they do use use it.

Think before you post, please.

A better question would be why don't the Spurs use the free throw lines?

I remember JVG putting it best..."theres a difference between weight lifting strength and functional strength"

You want guys with great functional strength....look at Tim, he in no way looks like a body builder but do you ever see him get backed down? Rarely. And Tony...it takes strength to finish the way he does and on bigs like he does...but he aint winning no bench press contests

If they trained for hypertrophy they would probably be way too sore to perform at a decent level on the court during the actual season.

It'd be cool to know their workout program though and how they tie in weight lifting. With all the cardio they do I'd be interested in seeing how they work it all out to also try and gain a lot of muscle.

lebron has a good shot though.

He's certainly a freak of a physical specimen. Even when he was still a teen, he had the natural physique of a more mature man. Here is a workout for LeBron posted in Men's Health. It has a lot of dumb bell exercises in the workout regimen.

Tim, Tony, Manu have obviously crippled their careers by not carrying another 20 - 30 pounds of muscle.

Thats a workout some dumbass Men's health writer created, not a workout that Lebron actually does. I'm 100% sure he has more functional exercises in his workout, although he obviously also uses dumbbells etc.

You don't need big bulky muscles in order to be strong, a lot of skinny pro athletes have a bunch of lean muscle.

Example, white dude on the left is a boxer named Kelly Pavlik, he's 6'1 160lbs yet in his workouts (which I've seen him do) he flips 600lb tires.

http://www.goldenboypromotions.com/media/2008/oct/10.17.08_wi/pv.jpg

Another boxer named Vic Darchinyan, he's only 5'5 and weighs 115lbs yet he's able to bench press around 270lbs. Both boxers have a lot of muscle but it really doesn't show up.

They don't have weights, they traded them on Craigslist for a Wii.

Not hard at all, dude must be loaded with testosterone in order to build that much muscle with that workout. He's got a big jaw and a low brow ridge + a big chin, men who have those features usually have a lot of testosterone.
