How does it make any sense to give Barnes the same rating as Artest?..

He's a significantly worse defender, he's just as bad of a shooter, he has less ability to create offense..he doesn't do many things better than Artest, at least not enough to make up for Artest's massive defensive advantage..

I agree with Harlem,Barnes should be like a 69

Overall: 72.1

All in all, the Pistons are two superstars and a couple of interior defenders away from having a playoff contender. Unfortunately, with no cap space, the Pistons are not going to be able to maintain the talent they have and add those great players through trades. They could through the draft, but it's unlikely they lose for the next two years and keep a winning culture. They would have to draft exceptionally well.

Hamilton and Prince will be out of their prime, Ben Wallace is likely to retire, and diminish before then, and make the situation worse with regards to rebounding and defense . Without a traditional point guard, the Pistons are going to run the offense through those two great players they are supposed to draft. Greg Monroe, if he becomes one of those great players, would help the Pistons intiate the offense, crash the boards, and defend the interior. Austin Daye could become another average talent but it is unlikely that he becomes a superstar or a leading offensive weapon.

In short, this team sucks and will until they break up the team and start over (trading Villanueva and Gordon for cap space, letting Hamilton and Prince walk, not overpay for anyone else).

Ariza - 75 (?)

I'd give Ariza a high 70 to a low 80. On my custom roster on 2K9, I have him at 79, and I'd say that's good. I really think he's gonna be a lot better with the Hornets than he woulda been at the Rockets.

Based on the calculations of 2k10, this should be close to the ratings next season. They value all-around game more than dominance in one area so guys like Rajon Rondo will have a significantly higher rating than real life efficiency as opposed to a shooter like Matt Bonner who isn't good in any other areas who will suffer from the overall ratings.

A bit off topic but do you expect Bargnani to have a break out season next year? And do you expect Jose Calderon to be traded?

I expect them to lean heavily on Bargnani for offensive output, but I'm not sure how well he'll respond. I predict something like a 19/8 season, on 45% shooting.

I was heartbroken when Jordan pull the Calderon/Evens for Diaw/Chandler trade off the table. The fucker decided to become a good GM when it was my team. Calderon should be traded, he'd make a serviceable backup on many contenders. At one point I thought he was the best backup in the NBA - the mistake was making him into a starter. Now hes making too much money and in a role he's not supposed to be in.
