These are actually highlights of OSU dominating our in-state rival this year, but Anderson scored 31 so he's in there a lot.

Thanks for the post.

Anderson's 3 pt skill and ability to get to the basket, especially from the corners, should serve him and the Spurs well. Can't wait for the season to start.

All I saw from the Anderson video was what Jefferson was supposed to provide for the Spurs, slashing from the corner and knocking down shots coming off screens. Argh!

Definitely looks like he knows how to score in a variety of ways. Nice looking jumper, and good touch around the basket. If this kid can show up and play some defense, he could be a real asset to the Spurs.

He's got better slashing ability than I thought and his shooting is what I pictured it would be like. He'll fit in nicely.

Anderson looks good but thisis highlights so he should. Still he has range and moves well with the ball.

Matt Pilgrim looks pretty good as well. But he got charged with date rape by an OSU coed in April of this year. Anyone know anything?

I can see Anderson eventually becoming the Spurs new starting SF. It looks like he likes shooting from the corners and has the athletecism to drive baseline for a good shot at the basket.

Jefferson better not think that starting position is a guaranteed spot for him to take.

^^Tbh that video speaks much more volumes for James Anderson than the 31 pts. one.

He was one of the best scorers in college if not the best. That turn around 3 pointer off the glass with a hand in his face at 1:17 is one of the reasons I think he'll do well in the NBA, you just can't block that shot. Anderson took those shots consistently at OSU and made a lot of them, there aren't many guys in the NBA that could knock down that shot.

At least we don't have to worry about our superstars showing up in gay pics ala Kobe.

Is that J.J. Barea v.2.0?

Would be nice if Anderson could just play the Sf and the Spurs would actually try and get a real Sf. Playing out of position is a roll of the dice that the Spurs can't afford to continue doing unless Anderson is the second coming of Bowen of defense.

The biggest thing that worries me about Anderson is his size at the 3 spot. He doesn't appear all that big to me. He might get Powned on the defensive end.

DX listed Anderson among the 'small forward crop.' His height (6'5.75") is shorter than R.J. (6'8.5") and Caron Butler (6'6.5"). Anderson's standing reach is greater than both of them, however (8'8" to R.J.'s 8'7" and Butler's 8'7.5"). I wonder is Anderson might 'play taller' than he appears to be because his neck seems to be abnormally short and because 'you don't block shots with your head,' -standing reach is more important. I think he'll probably back up R.J. this year, and I can't wait to see him play (I hope his hamstring is 100% by training camp).

Yeah, Keiton Page has a similar look, except he's shorter than JJ.

Wow, them boys at Oklahoma State sure can shoot.

We should just start Tony, Manu and RJ and then let Hill, Neal and Anderson run wild and rampant on the Bench, knocking down 3-point shots like crazy. And anything they miss can just be grabbed up by Dejaun Blair. Oh, and we still got Tiago in the post!

This Season is gonna be good. :toast

Thanks for posting the video. JA looks good. We are going to have the best 6'6"-6'8" team in the NBA. Finally we are getting young and athletic guys to go with our experienced championship caliber guys. I think we will surprise a few teams along the way.

he's the perfect size for a shooting guard he seems to small for a small foward but if he be like how marcus thornton was last year that would help alot

His neck and build looks a little like Vinnie Johnson. If Anderson could play like him...

I think this guys could start some time this year if he picks up his D.

I think he will start at the 2 by the end of the year and allow Manu to play with Blair, Splitter, Neal and Hill. That is an awesome 2nd team.

Anderson is not a SF and will never be a SF on the NBA level. He isn't even 6'5 without shoes and he already has some questions surrounding his defense...so asking him to guard players with NBA SF length is setting him up to fail. He is a SG and that is all he will ever be unless the Spurs are using a three guard lineup.

I agree. Anderson would be better suited for a role as SG. However, I'm also of the opinion that his somewhat slight build, would cause him to struggle against your standard, run-of-the-mill, NBA SFs. For example, the Vince Carters, Nic Batums, Caron Butlers, Rudy Gays, and Ron Artests of the NBA. Hell for that matter, he'd probably struggle covering RJ in practice. He's just not big enough and would clearly be at a disadvantage trying to cover the likes of these guys.

Anderson is just NOT equipped to be a SF in this league. And I hope Pop doesn't try and force fit him into a spot that he's incapable of having success at. See the Roger Mason JR backup PG experiment failure.

This is what I think too. BUT if we don't sign a backup SF I'm afraid we we will see a three guard lineup and I don't like it at all. We have an unbalanced team with too many SGs, just like last season.

Exactly. We shouldn't get carried away by this. Let's just remember that if you only watched the highlights video of, say, Tony Delk's 53 points performance, you would think he was an insanely good player - which he definitely was not.
It's still nice to see Anderson doing so well, of course.
