Seems like they were two completely different players.

Who knows 8 and 24 are such diff players. 8 was a young high-flying explosive player while 24 is the mature smart player. I do think both though

The Laker organization and the media, Al-Quobe, tries to distance itself away from the #8 version of Kobe, other than mentioning his 3 rings..it was at a time where he was a sidekick, accused of rape, snitched on a teammate and missed the playoffs..

The 24 version has built his own individual success as a #1 option, won back the media's love and the love of the casual fan, and benefits greatly from revisionist history as we move farther away from the previous era..

If they had to pick one, they would go with 24, without a doubt..they might do both though, which would be stupid, but possible..

24. 24 represents that he was the clear cut number one option even though it shouldn't matter. And it was in jersey 24 where the Lakers won an NBA title over the Celtics .....

Why would it be stupid,#8 before he even touched number 24 was a lock for HOF. I mean your organization for the love of God retired Avery Johnson. I mean damn...And not every1 such as yourself when they think of #8 Kobe thinks of rape and Shaq saga, some think 3x champion or 81 points

24 is going up the rafters. 8 isn't but nobody will be allowed to use it within the organization.

8 was better, but 24 didn't have Shaq's shadow looming. They'll retire both.

They will retire 16

24-8 = 16

More proof that the Lakers are Gasol's team

Does it matter? This old shitbag is gonna try to play as long as he can because he knows as soon as he leaves he'll be forgotten.

Who gives a fuck if someone wears #8? You're letting Steve Blake wear Big Shot Bob's number and you care about Kobe's old rape number? No thanks. Retire 24.

I agree. 24 will be officially retired in the rafters and 8 will be unofficially retired.

:rolleyes

Horry practically lost the 2003 series for the Lakers. There have been much better Laker roleplayers than Robert fucking Horry not get their jersey put in the rafters.

They aren't the Celtics :rollin

Lakers will probably pick 24 because it was the last number he wore.

Kobe would probably pick 24 because that is the "new" Kobe, and I'm sure he prefers that over the "old" Kobe.

Seriously, players like Coop and Byron Scott are more deserving than Horry in rafters. And even Derek Fisher...
