Brent "Billion" Barry was Ghost Writer's dream free agent pickup last summer.

Marcus has not been a stranger, he has been in here as God knows who, given his 1067 different personalities.

In fact, that post count is probably pretty close to being correct if you add up all the different posts of all his different names.

I seem to recall that most (all?) of us thought the Barry signing was a good one.

True, but we actually have our eyes open while watching these games.

I don't think the Barry experiment is over yet. Come on, if he pulls a Steve Kerr and gets hot in just one pivotal game, and essentially wins the game for us (the way Steve did), then it's becomes a great pickup. It's not too late...yet.
Personally, I hope we hang on to him next year. Obviously not based on his performance this year, just because he's a much better player than he's shown in the Black and Silver. Maybe the expectations of contributing on a real contender got to him...the Hedo Effect. Maybe it was just easier to perform with no real expectations of going all the way. Hopefully getting his first ring will remove any pressure and he'll just let it fly next season.
...but I haven't given up on him contributing this season yet. I still feel like he'll break through.
But I'm an optimist. Don't listen to me. I thought Hedo would thrive in this system. (Am I the only person who will still admit that? Hedo was so bad, he made me miss HITA.)

I will be the first to admit that I hyped the idea like crazy last summer when it happened. Then again who didn't everyone said the spurs made the best off season acquistion. who knew??? However one ass saving game in the playoffs can make everyone forget about anything up until now...... as TNT says let the Truth be told.

A few of us (more like 2 or 3 if I recall correctly) were disappointed that Jack was not brought back instead and questioned Barry's playoff cred (or lack thereof).
But the Balla Goomba™ wet himself when the Spurs signed Barry.

I do not remember what I thought. I think I was noncommital. But I am not convinced that Barry is through for the year.
I think he just puts too much pressure on himself against his former team and that is hurting his confidence.
I am looking for him to have a nice series against Dallas or Phoenix.

I was very happy Barry was brought on board and definitely thought he would be contributing more than he is. This shrivelled ball syndrome that has afflicted both him and rasho is disturbing.
But I'm holding out hope, cuz our Spurs needed shooters last year to get over the hump of TWO solid bigmen, i.e. wallace bros, i.e. shaq n zo, and we will need our shooters to hit big shots AND barry needs to attack and try to draw a couple fouls if he can as well. I know he ain't no defensive juggernaut, but as long as he hustles, i'm fine with that.
before the 'we coulda had jax' debate starts, was it possible capwise. Thanks.

I wanted Jax back, but I also thought Barry was a good signing.
However, he doesn't deserve the year-long free pass he's been getting. Call 'em as you see 'em.
Hell, AD played better than this in '02, and the FO couldn't wait to get rid of him.
