what do we do with Rasho next year? We can't keep a $50 million dollar guy on the bench. I say trade Rasho to some eastern conference team (they lack Bigmen and need one, especially with Shaq there. So i'm sure some team will want him) and resign Nazr after next year.

What do you think?

I thought Rasho was a $42 million man?

He is.

Kinda looks like a $42 million bench warmer.

We always have the Knicks, I'm sure they will take him.

Who knows?

All I know is that Rasho is now one of the best backup centers in the league. If the Spurs go on to face the Suns or the Heat, Rasho will be valuable against Amare and Shaq.

Don't hate.

Congratulate the Spurs for having two centers.

I'm not hating. I just wondering. Because we can't keep both of them after next year, one of them has to go, and I like Nazr better.

Why does one have to go?

Well, if Nazr continues to play like he is, his market value will be around Rasho's price tag. The Spurs do not have enough to resign Nazr, unless they trade somebody. They are capped out for the next 3 or 4 years.

Yeah, they can use early bird rights, but we would be over the luxury tax, plus Holt will be reluctant to pay more money for players.

I am no expert, but don't we have to trade for someone who makes roughly the same? So wouldn't we get back someone who makes just as much leaving us in the same prediciment we are in now??

Yes. That is true. However, me might be able to trade for a bunch of expiring contracts.

I wonder what the odds are that we could find that many dollars with expiring contracts?

Houston maybe? especially if yao bolts.

Maybe trade Rasho for some cash, draft picks, and a low quality player??

doesn't work that way even if the spurs wanted to do it...and they wouldn't...

I have faith that Pop and the FO will figure out the best move. Meanwhile, does Isaiah have anything left in the cupboard we'd want?

The Spurs will not trade Rasho without having Nazr locked up long term. The risk of trading Rasho and then having Nazr sign with another team leaving the Spurs without either player is too high. Plus, we don't know what Nazr's going rate will be. If Foyle can bag a $42 million deal, then Nazr might command Dampier money. Don't know if the Spurs would be willing to do that, with or without Rasho.

Rasho's not going anywhere for at least a year, probably not even then. With Amare getting better and better, depth at the C position is a good thing.

Right now my ideal off-season this summer is:

1. River parade
2. Get an extension done with Nazr
3. Sign Scola
4*. Trade Rasho and Barry for a quality SF (i'm thinking Golden State, Atlanta, or Chicago)
5. Genetic transplant for Tony so he's no longer French

* or if they could find someone to take back say draft picks, money for these two, and we had some money under the cap (I don't even know if we would) that we could go and sign Bobby Simmons

Thats right!
I like the idea of having someone back there behind Nazr, and especially if they meet the monsters from the Suns and Heat later on if we advance. Depth!
