the first thing this fag needs to work out is the courage to tell us the truth that he will never come back to play again. I think the time will come when the Rockets have paid him the last bill worth 18 million dollars. if he retires now he will have to relinquish the last 18 dollars, which is the obvious reason why he has to delay it by a year.

I think it doesn't hurt even if he tells us the truth that he won't play any more basketball. officially he would still be an active basketball player even after he told press the truth. IMHO a player is free to announce whatever he wants to say about his career and whatever he says doesn't have any official effect, unless the announcement is official.

Actually he's right about one year. He was in last year's playoffs when he got injured (2009), so he's only missed the one year. He would have to be out until next May for it to be two.
