Were The Founding Fathers Psychic?

George Washington: “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”

Thomas Jefferson: “Delay is preferable to error.”

John Adams: “Fear is the foundation of most governments.”

James Madison: “Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government.”

Looks like they were, based on these quotations. I think you hate our Founders.

I'm not the only person making the inference. You still hate our beloved Founders.

you can "prove" any damn thing by quoting the FF's, like "proving" stuff from the Bible.

"Do not separate text from historical background."

And red-state thinks this supports their retrograde politics of hate and xenophobia?

Rather than prescience or psychic abilities, which is absurd, they were most likely astute observers of history. You don't have to guess what may happen when you have centuries of history of what has happened.

I'm pretty sure the founding fathers would be pretty turned off by the attempts at deification.

And they owned slaves.

Apparently they didn't use their psychic powers to see into the future where we finally figured out enslaving people was wrong.

That certainly explains the lack of an "Anti-Cheney clause". :lmao:lmao

err, we have more slaves in the US today than we did in 1776. Today, we have 2 million people enslaved, in 1776 it was only 500,000.

So fuck you.

there are 2 million legal slaves in the U.S? err, huh?

Define slave and please elaborate on where these slaves are.

This is like Chariots of the Gods. No way the swarthy, primitive Egyptians were up to building the pyramids.

People who are locked up, we have about 2.5 million. Most slaves in 1776 were not actually locked up. If you count all unfree people in the in the US, it is another 5 million, for a total of about 7.5 million. Typically, an unfree person is the definition of a slave, even if you're not locked up.

So the Founding Fathers had a LOT less slavery than our government today.

Prisoners are not free. They are prisoners.

Using your "logic" -- unless you are for the immediate release of every prisoner in the United States, you are pro slavery.
