That's pretty cool! Too bad they don't give super prices or did I miss that?
The cheapest I've see super is $2.15 by my house.
And before anyone starts in with the 'you really don't have to use super'. Yes I do.

my opinion is, if anyone can afford a car that says, "super unleaded only," then they shouldn't complain about gas prices. same thing, if you can afford an suv then you shouldn't complain about gas prices. if you complain, then you should probably get a cheaper car.
but here is a tidbit as well:
McAllen, Texas: Hi JIm, What is your opinion on Super Unleaded gasoline for my G35? I have read that you are paying extra for really nothing beneficial. Also, I'd like to tell readers that the G35 just might be the best value for the money. I LOVE MINE!
James Healey: The G's cool to drive, no question. Let's see how it holds up, and what it's reale value is, before holding the party, though.
You're never wrong to follow the automaker's recommendations on fuel. But there is almost no new car sold in the USA that NEEDS premium. Even the Porsche turbo models run OK on regular, according to Porshce's top powertrain engineer. The tradeoff using regular when premium's specified is a slight -- usually unnoticeable -- decrease in power. Modern engines use sensors that foretell dangerous knock and detonation and detune the engine slightly (retard the ignition timing) to accomodate lower-octane fuel. Premium is NOT better fuel, just higher-octane (which only means it resists knocking better than lower-octane gas).

Sometimes the knock sensor is not enough when using really crappy gas in a high compression engine, especially in summer. You should experiment with different brands of gasoline; some brands of regular don't knock as bad as others. I love my diesel, though, it knocks all the time.
This is also a good source of cheap gas:

I don't complain about gas prices and I know I get shitty gas mileage, especially since I have a lead foot.. And since my owner's manual recommends super, then super it is.

I moved Jess' furniture to a new apt this week, and while driving the truck I swear I rode with such a light foot on the accelarator. I got decent gas milage, but it was amazing to see how quickly that needle would drop down on the times I had to give it some gas.

Hey Shelly, is your car a stick?
No, it's Tiptronic.
My next car will be, though. And the funny thing is that my husband decided to go with Tip on his next car after driving a manual since day one.

I don't know if I could ever go back to automatic. Well, if I ever move to a place that has nightmarish traffic, I probably could, but I love shifting.
