in LA and how many rings would Kobe have won in Cleveland if you would have done a swap of the two.

I say the same in both situations.

LeBron 4 (with Shaq)
Kobe 0

LeBron would have the same three as Kobe's first three plus the Lakers would have won in 2004. Assuming Shaq left the same way over his gripe with Buss, LeBron wouldn't have won anymore by this time. LeBron wouldn't have bitched to the front office and threaten to leave or demand a trade. He'd just quit and leave the Lakers when he'd be a free agent.

Kobe wins zero titles with Cleveland, just like LeBron. Most likely, he'd have to demand a trade or leave as well. But it would depend where he went if he could win a title elsewhere.

Kobe - 0 (no big man to hold his hand every step of the way)

You fucktards really think Prime Shaq and Lebron could share the paint together. What made Shaq good was that he had fucking great perimeter players on his team.

Lebron and Shaq together < Kobe and Shaq together

Either you win them or you don't.

Kobe 5
Lebron 0

I order to win them you got to play yourself in the finals and Kobe have that in 7 of 14 seasons. Lebron 1 in 7 and he got fucking swept that one time.

Lebron can't even tie Kobe's shoes yet.

Lebron would have won 3 straight by now.

Kobe probably wouldn't even sniff the 2nd round if he swapped places with Lebron.

Lebron probably would have gone to the finals the first year....then fail. Get an upgrade of teammates and fail at the WCF....then get even more better teamates, then get eliminated in the 2nd round. :downspin:

Word. LeHype couldn't shoot well enough to provide Shaq with the space he needed to do his thing. That's why a Shaq/LeHype combo in Cleveland didn't work. Kobe had LeHype's slashing ability with a jumper (deadly combination). Shaq/Kobe were the best combo in NBA history. Kobe/Pau will be a top 5 duo before it is all said and done though. :toast

Now the fun part...

Fact or fiction: LeHype as a leader of a team = 0 rings. And I will add that LeHype has always had a team built around him. We've seen those results. Fact

Fact or fiction: Kobe as a leader of a team = 2 rings (and counting). We've seen Kobe drag a team of Kwame, LO, Cook, Luke, and Smush to the playoffs and scare the living shit out of a stacked Suns team. Then we saw what he did when his front office put competent pieces around him. Fact

Truth be told, LeHype doesn't have the will to win that Kobe had. There were many close calls for the Lakers. Here is one with Shaq/Kobe and with Kobe/Gasol:

1) Down 15 to 2000 Blazers in WCF - W
2) Down 13 to the 2010 Celtic Bums in Finals - W

^In either scenario, sub LeHype for Kobe and the Lakers lose because he can't shoot. Thems be the facts...

So Kobe would win in Cleveland five times and Lebron won't win with prime Shaq? :lmao:lmao:lmao:lmao

Last I checked, without a great big man, Kobe failed to take his team to the playoffs. How is he going to win a championship in Cleveland? Fucking delusional Laker fan

No he didn't. Last I checked we played the Suns two years in a row with teams that did not belong there and we were a rebound from knocking them out.

LOL. Comparing the west to east. The East has been a cakewalk for most of the past decade. Win about 40% and you are in the playoffs.

Kobe may not have beaten the Spurs in 07 if he played for the Cavs. But I can assure you he would not have been swept.

You can have these meaningless discussions about every great player. What if Jordan played for the Clippers, how many titles would he have won? Who cares? All that matters is what has actually happened.

LMAO, Kobe's career was all about depending on a big man, then eventually taking the credit for himself. Who was Lebron's dependable big back in 07? Gooden, Big Z, Varejao? Kobe would have demanded a trade after seeing these bigs on the Cavs' bench.

Nonsense.

Magic never won a ring without a Hall of Fame bigman. He also had another Hall of Famer in Worthy. Magic never won a ring without two Hall Of Famers on his team.
Magic + 2 HOF = 5 rings.

Bird never won without two Hall Of Fame bigmen. He also had a third Hall Of Famer in Dennis Johnson. Bird never won a ring without three Hall Of Famers playing on his team.
Bird + 3 HOF = 3 rings

When Kobe has won rings he has only had one Hall of Fame player (or potential HOF player) on his team during those seasons and has 5 rings.
Kobe + 1 HOF = 5 rings

All of a sudden Kobe is looking more impressive now isn't he?

Trivia question: Who in NBA history except Kobe has won 5 rings or more with only one HOF player (or one potential HOF player) on his team each of those championship seasons?

Hint: It's a very short list.

The difference between Bird/Magic with Kobe is that they were the de facto Batman of their teams. It's an unquestioned and a universally-accepted truth. Kobe meanwhile has a huge asterisk before his name from 2000-2002.

You can't revise history, brah. There were just so many people who witnessed the Robin that Kobe was to Shaq.

Good post. Funny part about it is, before Pau came and played with Kobe, everybody called him soft. Pau Gasoft was the buzzword you always hear. 0-12 with the Grizzlies with Battier or Rudy Gay as his 2nd fiddle. Everybody was harping on him. But look at him now: the undisputed best PF in the game. When he is a major contributor to a couple more rings, he will be highly considered for the HOF. And people say Kobe doesn't make his teammates better. :rolleyes
