If someone was good enough, could they theoretically pull a participating IP address off of a public website and then get inside the service provider's network in order to secure subscriber information about that IP? Is that even possible? If so, do you think it's possible to find someone who would do it for pay? Where would you look?

You could hire people to do it or if you can get the ip yourself (board administrators etc.) then you could try doing it yourself.

Tbh tracing the ip back to a specific geographic location is not always possible. Sometimes it may just give you the general region

And this procedure will still be going before you recover from your mental/societal breakdown

From there it goes through a bunch of proprietary equipment and only they know how it gets served. You can go and knock on the doors of a few hundred people at best or break into their network and land in prison.

The far easier thing to do would be to just google the guy until you find where they mentioned their address. Or to just get over yourself.

I meant a very general idea, I used to fume tracerouting q2 servers to see which hops were timing out when we would have to play on East Coast and West Coast servers in a TX clan on RoadRunner.
