My wife and I went to see the Toadies at Whitewater on Saturday. Great Venue set right off the river. Dos Equis sponsored and their 16 oz. beers were 3 bucks. Same size Miller Lite 4 bucks. Anyone else been to the venue?

Don't know shit about the location but you're a lucky bastard to have seen the Toadies. Is Possum Kingdom only on the radio all the time cause I live in Texas or is it cause it's actually that big of a song? I was too young to know about them when they were big

My favorite Toadies song is the one that sounds like Possum Kingdom.

They are from Dallas and they have a cult following in Texas, that's why.

After the hit Possum Kingdom they wanted to ride their fame with a new album and tour. Their record label said no to their new album so they lost their fame since they didn't make anything else soon after that hit CD.

I think they redid that whole album recentley and are trying to get a record label onboard(not sure about the last part).

The band was great but the thread was more about the venue.

It's a great place...I've been there several times...it actually made the New York Times top ten "outdoor venue" locations in the USA. I like to get a group together and rent one of the VIP areas up on the second floor...no lines to the bar up there and get to look down at the riff-raff and people watch...:lol

It vaguely reminded me of being on a balcony in New Orleans during Mardi Gras without the beads...

If all their songs sounded like "Possum Kingdom" I'd probably like them better. I love that song, but have never been able to get into any of their other stuff.

The thread goes where it wants to go. It's like trying to control the tide
