Diaw makes 9M a year as a professional athlete. Even in the offseason, is it too much to ask that he not exhibit a noticeable belly and moobs?

Good scoring game by De Colo but his ball handling is so bad that the France has already 10 TOs...

Batum has been very lackluster this tourney and especially this game.

Turkey is much better than FNT. They are the team that has been the most impressive in this tournament. I hope they will win this WC just for Tanjevic.

Parker wouldn't have saved this team. I'm so relieved he's at home getting rest instead of trying to.

embarrassing.

France needs to stick the single-handed ocean yachting, judo, etc. They are famously bad at team sports.

I expected Turkey to be good at this WC, playing in front of your crowd does that to you. But they have been really good, and their young players have blossomed a lot earlier than people expected. Ilyasova, Eden, Asik will be fun to watch next year in the NBA.

De Colo is no playmaker.

Yup. I honestly can't see this guy being an NBA calibre player. No complaints though seeing as he's a 53rd pick.

De Colo has been a big disappointment during this WC

He's not a point guard at all.

Our 3 best point guards are Parker, Diot and Beaubois.

De Colo was awful, French team was lost in the execution of the systems.
And we needed to play Boris "the whale" Diaw at the point.
It was really painful to watch.

Just one time, one time... I want to see Parker, Noah, Diaw (in shape), the Pietrus brothers, Turiaf, Batum, Diot, Beaubois, Gelabale etc... play together.

Please.

Canada and Russia alone should be enough to top volleyball when it comes to number of players. :lol

If popular means money invested and TV coverage, then hockey is way above volleyball indeed. But it lacks african, asian and south american teams (and this is at least one olympic team sport where spain is not good at all).

On a more BB/Spurs related side, I'm happy TP did not participate but I want Les Bleus to be at full force next two years cause it's a golden opportunity to mix the generations and finaly win something. They have the players to do it.

People not living in France don't realize how marginal basketball is in this country. One can think with Parker and all the french players in NBA, basketball is a very popular sport but it isn't. FNT has some good players but when they are out, it's logical that they suck because France hasn't a great basketball tradition.

Just to give you an idea on how small basketball is in France, some TV rights per year:
French BB league: 4 M€
Euroleague: 0.8 M€
NBA: 1.5 M€
French soccer league: 668 M€

The Rugby World Cup is the third most popular sporting event in the World behind the FIFA WC and the Olympics.

Yeah Rugby is pretty popular, and also global. Not only played in Europe, but powerhouse teams exist in the southern hemisphere as well with New Zeeland, Australia, South Africa, and recently Argentina.
