Beaubois (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Rodrigue_Beaubois) coming along: Though he still has to use a walking boot to protect his surgically repaired left foot, point guard Roddy Beaubois could still be ready to play by the time the regular season begins Oct. 27.
Though no timetable has been established, Beaubois said he's hopeful that his foot is well enough to play at the start of the season. "It's a tough injury with where it is," he said, looking down at the outside edge of his foot where a pin was inserted to fix the fracture. "I just need to wait a couple more weeks, and the goal is to come back for the regular season. If I can come back early, great. But it [waiting] is the best thing to do."
Beaubois still walks with a decided limp when he's not in the boot, but at least he's no longer on crutches.
