They can only offer him the vet minimum.
Damp is garbage, but he's better than any C they have on their roster. He might just be that missing piece, lol.

Even speaking as someone that doesn't like the Mavericks, it would be a shame to see him get a ring before the guys he's let down for so many years.

As much as I dont like Dampier, I think if he goes to Maimi, he will be a very good addition. Him being there gives them a scary lineup. Haslem/Bosh wont have to play center. All he would have to do is stick his big body in there and grab some rebounds.

Miami would be at the top of Dampier list if he's released
Dampier has already told at least one long-time associate in his Jackson, Miss. hometown that Miami would be at the top of his list if he's released. Dampier's camp also indicated that to the Bobcats, who are convinced he's likely headed for Miami if Charlotte can't find a trade partner.

power shift
He will be in a Heat uniform next week. All that is needed of him is solid defense and rebounding. Him and Z should be the fill the center position just fine. Next year granted the new CBA permits, the Heat can land themselves a nice C with MLE.

you can ban the ip, but with vpn shareware software anyone can create a new account and keep trolling. the best solution is to educate, not exterminate.

I like you SenorSpur your one of the few ppl in this site that handles situation with out any curse or anger.
Thanks man. :toast
I realize that word has taken a newer form of endearment. However, despite all the new-jack justification and the continued liberal use of the word by mainstream society, there's simply no way to shake the negative connotation.
Even though it doesn't anger me as much anymore, I still find it highly offensive. I'm trying to stay a bit more even-keeled these days, so as I don't rupture a blood vessel. :lol

Injury risk was a factor in Bobcats waiving Dampier (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/09/15/1694786/injury-risk-was-a-factor-in-bobcats.html)
By Rick Bonnell
charlotteobserver.com
Charlotte Bobcats management was more fearful of Erick Dampier suffering a serious injury than hopeful of finding a suitable trade.
That, a team source described, was the incentive for Tuesday’s decision to waive center Dampier, rather than continue searching for a deal two weeks out from training camp.
The source, speaking anonymously because of the sensitivity of the subject, explained that while Dampier’s $13 million isn’t guaranteed for performance, it would be for health. Thus, if Dampier suffered a season-ending injury, the Bobcats would have been liable for $13 million, plus a potential $7 million in NBA-imposed luxury tax.
With all that at stake, the team abandoned their search for a trade that would both reduce its payroll to below the tax threshold and acquire another asset.
Keep Reading... (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/09/15/1694786/injury-risk-was-a-factor-in-bobcats.html)

Yeah, many of us called Damp to the Heat a while ago. It make a lot of sense. We will see where he ends up.

If he goes to the Heat they should be pretty decent at the C position. Z brings some shooting, a little rebounding. Joel Anythony brings some toughness and a shot-blocking presence. Dampier would bring a veteran defensive type of presence as well...
