Hate the Dodgers but I think Torre helped to lay the groundwork for Mattingly to be successful for a long time

Donnie Baseball might have been my favorite player growing up. I hope he does well.

yes because torre is like .500 for his career as a manager
with all those high paid players with the yankees for so long

To be fair, he had a .604 winning percentage as the Yankees manager. The .500 career winning percentage is largely a product of his New York Mets years bringing down that winning percentage.

Cosign the fuck outta this. Having grown up in northern/central New Jersey in the 80s, Mattingly was like a God to every kid in my neighborhood.
