Guys,

Waiting for the season to start, let's indulge in a little fantasy.
Suppose the Klingons and Humans are meeting for the Galactic Finals, a best of nine! Wow! Now, assuming we can pick from all the greatest players in history. We must form the most competitive, the most courageous, the fightingest team there is, NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER. We need the 15 best talent, but they must work as a TEAM!

Here is mine:

First Team
Chamberlain at center
Russell at power forward (!)
Bird at small forward
Magic as point guard
Jordan as shooting guard

Second Team
Shaq at center
Duncan at power forward
Rodman as defensive small forward
Kobe as all around guard
Pippen as defensive wing player

Third Team
Sabonis at center (point center who can hit the three)
Abdul Jabbar as offensive power forward
Paul Pressey as point forward
Ginobili as shooting guard
Oscar Robertson to round it off.

How about you guys? Let us hear yours! It's clobberin time!

Regards to all Spurs fans!

I know it's a stereotype but Klingons can't jump. Also their tactics are too rigid and their communication is weak to put it mildly. You could throw out Derrick Dial and Julius Nwosu and be rested assured that the David Stern Galactic Trophy would also be on terra firma.

This is interesting. But I don't know enough about Klingons to know what the best human team would be. For all I know, Klingons may be so repulsed by gay men that they can't go within 10 feet of them. In this case, I start RJ and Walton. Or maybe they are afraid of grey type aliens so I start Sam Cassell. Anyway, great idea but without any more info...

this is heavily discussed in bill simmons' book of basketball. btw, having a center play at pf does not work when the center cannot make a decent 15-footer. it would just fill the lane with players and make it outside shooter-focused.

Rodman is not human, he'd play for Klingons
