Economic panel says recession ended in June 2009 (http://www.katu.com/news/business/103284619.html)
Great news for conservatives. When this proves to be false with more job losses, liberals and RINO's will be hurt more. I'll bet this is reversed before the November elections.

Why are you wishing our economic failure?

Um, you think the economy going down would be great news for you because it would cause you political gain. Thats a pretty shitty thing to be happy over. I thought we were supposed to want the economy to do well no mater who's methods accomplished it?

When the GOP win the midterm elections and take over the House and Senate, silly! Otherwise we're all going to Hell and the terrorists/gays/welfare recipients win!

View it with what ever filters you wish. I think the liberals are in too much a hurry to call it over and take credit for it during the November elections, and I think it will backfire on them.

Didn't you read the article? The National Bureau of Economic Research. Thing is, by definition, it has nothing to do with future prediction, but data. Do you think the census hiring didn't change the reality? Do you think the democrats will run as if this is good news? Do you think it will remain, especially as the facts during campaigns come out the the republicans introduced a tax bill to retain the tax cuts, but democrats only gave lip service?

This just proves what Dems have been saying all along....the stimulus worked....what's not working are the private small-business credit markets used to create jobs because bankers see American's becoming increasingly tapped-out...thanks globalism!

Since the recession is over and the stimulus worked, we can cut the federal budget by a third since the trouble has passed. Right Keynesians?

I hate to break it to some of you folks, but "recession" is a specifically and discretely defined event. It's not subject to opinion or subjective circumstance. The economy may remain shitty and may even enter another recession, but that is exclusive of the recession ending last year.

Also, job losses don't really have much to do with a recession ending as jobs are a lagging indicator. Additionally, as has been stated, calling the end to a recession doesn't preclude entering another recession. I am not even an economist (only 2 classes on the undergrad level), and even I know this. It's not rocket surgery here.
