Because there is a dvd set already on sale showing the Spurs NBA Finals victories, I cannot add any of those games to my list of the 9 Greatest Games of All-Time that I'd like to be on dvd...

#9. 1978 Game 7 vs the Sixers. This game features the Spurs first game 7 victory in their NBA history. Ice Man vs Dr J, I would like to see that one!

#8. 2/18/1986 I'm not sure who the Spurs played but Alvin Robertson's stat line of 20pts, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals has me curious.

#7. 2/17/1994 vs Detroit Pistons. This game was at the Alamodome and featured the return of Sean Elliott to SA. He was playing for the Pistons. The game turned into David Robinson's night when he turned in a quadruple double of his own: 34pts, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 blocks ( I wonder how many of those blocks were against Sean's shots? )

#6. 5/29/2003 game 6 vs Mavs. I just remember Steve Kerr going 3-point crazy in this game. This victory sent the Spurs back to the finals.

#5. 4/24/1998. 1st round playoff victory over the Suns. I remember Tim Duncan dominating this game late. It was like Tim Duncan, a rookie, announcing to the NBA that a new superstar had arrived.

#4. 4/24/1994. vs Clippers. David Robinson scores 71pts to clinch the scoring title. As I recall, this game was not on tv in SA.

#3. 4/19/2008. Game 1 vs Phoenix. This game finished after 2OT and Tim Duncan came through with an improbable game tying 3pt jumpshot. The game winning shot thrown in by Manu Ginobili.

#2. 3/3/1982. vs Bucks in the Hemifair Arena. This game went in triple overtime before the Spurs prevailed 171 to 166. When the game ended, it was the highest scoring game in NBA history. George Gervin scored 50pts and Mike Mitchell finished with 45pts.

#1. 5/31/1999. vs Portland. The Memorial Day Miracle. Sean Elliott's jumpshot to win this game was crazy fantastic!

Did I miss any games? lol

Or even Game 5 from that very same series?

EDIT: I just saw the thread title and your list...I guess its the greatest NON-Finals Spurs games...my bad

The game where Sean returned after his kidney transplant. The game might not have been significant in the sense of the game, but for emotional impact, it ranks way up there. They opened the upper deck for that game and it was packed. When Sean was introduced the crowd went wild. Usually they introduced David last, but that night they introduced him first and everyone knew they were giving the honored spot to Sean.

Then when he made his first basket, the crowd went wild again. It was a salute to his courage and perseverance.

Since we're talking non-Finals games, I gotta shout out to the Spurs-Sonics series in 05. That shit was fucking epic.

I was so angry that series. They were so ghetto in Seattle that year with Jerome James and co. "I give them no respect, none"

Game 5 Finals 6/19/2005 at Detroit. Closely contested and Robert Horry delivers the dagger from 3 pt land in OT. That was one of the classics of all-time as I recall.

I like a game when Steve Kerr made like 4 three-pointers in the last period, i guess it was game 6 of the 2003 conf. finals against Dallas.

If we're talking about non-finals games, the regular season match between the Spurs and Phoenix from 2005 featuring Manu's 48 points and the Spurs being down 17 to start the 4th quarter is pretty up there. From that point on you knew no matter what Phoenix did they were destined to lose to us. :lol

That series was incredible. I was living in Seattle at the time, so I went to all the Spurs road games in that series. The crowd was amazing; completely in to it, and LOUD. If you had told me that the Sonics would leave 3 years later, I wouldn't have believed you.

Game 6, Seattle 2005. Duncan, who'd been on gimpy ankles much of the year, rolls one on a landing early in the fourth and goes down in a heap. Much of the Seattle crowd erupted in cheers while all of Spurs nation attempted not to shit itself. Tim was soon up and walking it off with two things readily apparent: he was in a great deal of pain and he was PISSED. Every Spurs fan I know points to the moment where Tim barked at Pop, who was sending a sub for Duncan to check in, that he was staying as the point where the name of the game changed to "Get the Fuck Out of Tim's Way." He'd go on to score 12 more points in the fourth including the go ahead bucket off a Manu pass with less than a second left. 98-96. Series over. I'd call it the signature victory from outside the finals that year.

Oh yeah, the thing I forgot to mention is how absolutely SILENT the crowd got when the Spurs won. Golden moment. If you've never been to a Spurs victory in a hostile arena, I highly recommend it.

My fav manu game.

The Spurs/ROckets game late in the 99 season where Mario Ellie killed his old team with a 3 is like top 3 non finals game IMO

LOL Barkley and them showed that and were calling dude the trashman :lol:lol. When he said that after game 4 I was fuming worse than the Spurs that night! I took it personally and I don't even play for the damn team.

I came in here just to say that agme against the Suns, I watched that at a bar with no noise and literally it was just a blur the way they came back with all those threes from Barry and Manu! That game is one I will NEVER EVER FOREGET!
