I loved the show last season, until the final episode. I hope they can keep their thunder from the first 5 shows going this season.

I'm really looking forward to it. I also loved Bored To Death last season so I'm anxious for that too. Rewatched Boardwalk Empire last night and was able to follow it better than last week; I'd love to have a "must see tv night" once again---it's been years for me!

Of the 4 premiers I was looking forward to this fall (Always Sunny, Boardwalk Empire, Bored to Death, Eastbound), I found it to be the weakest. But Bored came back really strong and did not disappoint at all :tu

We need a Sunday night HBO thread.

So I did finally watch the first episode of Boardwalk Empire. The first set everything up but still had enough going on to be interesting, the second almost seemed like a setup for the third.

Eastbound premier was okay at best, but again it looks like a good setup for what's to come.

Bored to Death seemed like the best premier of all of the shows, they didn't waste much time getting right back into things, but I still have a feeling subsequent shows will be better. The first season started off pretty slow and then became flat out hilarious.

The midget was hilarious in the first episode but overall it was pretty weak. Seems like it can turn into something good though, I just hope he makes it back to the states because the Mexico setting isn't working for me.

Episode was terrible. The only funny thing in it was Janowski yelling about getting a fucking break at Starbucks. They really painted themselves in a corner with this Mexico shit.

chick singing Night Moves in spanish was hilarious, and also kenny calling the dude with long hair the saxophone player from lost boys was also hilarious. you might have been expecting a bit much, but the cockfighting stuff got thrown to the side already and he'll be back on the mound soon

Yeah, I agree. I was a bit disappointed with the premiere, but it was pretty much a necessary episode with the way last season ended. It'll pick up.

And there were definitely some funny parts too. For one, the midget guy was just plain creepy, but in a hilarious way.

Yeah, this season has a very very weird somber tone to it. I like that they're trying something different this season, but the laughs are too far few and between. Definitely liked the 2nd episode better than the first. Having Stevie back really helps.

I enjoyed season 1. but season 2 is a whole new level of comedy gold.

Holy shit so many awesome moments in just the first 3 episodes- Reference to the sax player on the Lost Boys and Bartles and James, the big mongoloid, the angry mexican/indian midget, the cockfighting, the playing of the song "I am a Real American"....It doesn't get much better.

The last episode felt very much like a "set up" episode like the first one was. Looking forward to Don Johnson, that was a good surprise. I hope the whole Vida storyline is done with, it was kinda boring.

I don't know why this season is only 7 episodes. It's not like the first season was a dud or anything.

But, I didn't think the last episode was terrible, but overall this season has been pretty lackluster. They've basically used the whole season in Mexico for Kenny to find himself and realize to not be such a dick. Lame. Waste of what could have been a good season. Instead it's just been mediocre.

We'll see what happens the last episode though.
