Orlando is not that much better than San Antonio, if at all.

On second thought, I would add the Spurs to the list of contenders. With their addition of Bobby Simmons, their diversity is through the roof now.

I have a feeling SA will be better than people expect, while ORL will be worse.

I think ohmwrecker may therefore very well be right.

I don't see what is so funny? Orlando isn't much better IMO. I think they are better as things stand right now, but it is not some monumental gap.

the spurs were better then orlando last year, so the suns were better then boston.. now follow me cause its about to get tricky. you carry the 2 then divide by 3.14 (pie) and multiply by 7 you quickly figure out that the lakers were better then boston and my formula along with ohmwreckers is correct also.

lol

I am not as high on Orlando as others. Lewis & Carter are not great 2nd & 3rd options. Obviously they are still a great team that will win games, but I have never really been sold on them.

My opinion has nothing to do with the spurs really. It has more to do with seeing Orlando winning a title.

Scrah, you obviously haven't read my posts upstairs.

The Magic are pretty much garbage, tbh. They are a distant third in the east. Their style works great in the regular season but in the playoffs when every team focuses on Dwight and all of his outside shooters are choking then it's cake.

DPG21920
09-28-2010, 10:34 AM
And your sold on a 50 win 7 seed?

And your "wins" argument is a really, really terrible one. Was Boston better than Orlando? Boston only had 50 wins as well. Were you sold on that 50 win team?

Just really bad logic.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
09-28-2010, 10:39 AM
What a great comparison.

DPG21920
09-28-2010, 10:49 AM
:lol So using two teams with an aging core that have won titles and that each won 50 games that you use as a basis for your arguments is bad?

Your 50 win argument is the bad comparison. Yes Boston got to the finals, but how? They only had 50 regular season wins.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
09-28-2010, 10:50 AM
It's not nearly as bad as comparing a team that didn't win one single game past the 1st round to a team that was playing in game 7 of the NBA finals.

DPG21920
09-28-2010, 10:53 AM
But how could a team with 50 wins get to the finals and be better than a 57 win team? Before the playoffs started, how could people be sold on a 50 win team in the east being better than Orlando?

DPG21920
09-28-2010, 10:54 AM
So use another argument bc the 50 wins is irrealavent. Especially when you saw Boston w 50 wins get to a final.

DUNCANownsKOBE2

The fact San Antonio won 9 less games than Orlando and won 6 fewer playoff games is what makes Orlando better. Orlando has had 2 straight yeas being a final 4 team, San Antonio has had 2 straight years of not even sniffing the CF. Idk how anyone can make the argument San Antonio is almost as good as Orlando unless they are on the Moss Malone Splitter bandwagon.

If your best argument in an attempt to equate San Antonio to Orlando is the playoff run Boston went on last year (as in something that is irrelevant to both San Antonio and Orlando), then that pretty much says it all.

DPG21920
09-28-2010, 11:38 AM
No, what I'm attempting to do is show you how bad your logic is. I used Boston as an example to show you that using regular season wins as your basis is silly.

There is also a fine line between winning and losing, even in the playoffs, and I never said Orlando was not better. By how much is the debate and you using the 50 regular season wins argument adds nothing.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
09-28-2010, 11:51 AM
It adds more than you bringing up a team that has nothing to do with Orlando and San Antonio. While I manage to actually talk about what San Antonio did last year, you're raving about what Boston did for some weird reason.

DPG21920
09-28-2010, 12:24 PM
It's called drawing a paralell or using an example. Quit playing dumb (hopefully this is an act). When someone makes a silly statement and you use another example to show the fallacy, it does not render it useless. It is a clear rebuttal.

Like I said, I don't buy into Orlando as a legit contender. I don't buy into the Spurs as one. The fact the Spurs won 50 regular season games and Orlando more has absolutely no bearing as indicated by the Boston example.

Then when you look at playoff wins, you have to look at quality of opponents.

The magic having peaked IMO combined with the spurs starting the season with a healthy big 3 that is better than orlandos leads me to believe the gap is not as large as you suggest.

You can hate on that all you want, but it's not laughable to see the spurs being close to the magic this year. And using some lame as regular season win argument does not change that.

No, the fact Orlando went further in the playoffs is something that goes without saying. I didn't feel the need to mention it, sorry I overestimated Spurfan intelligence.

09-29-2010, 08:26 AM
Starting off with a healthy big 3 is irrelevant if they can't make it to the playoffs healthy. San Antonio has shown to run out of steam come playoff time. Tim Duncan for all the rest he got was still gassed in second round.

1) lol at randomly throwing the homer card. I think you need to stroll upstairs son. I'm just not sold on Orlando.

2) You want to play the random scoff grey spur fan shit, fine. But that does not work on me. TP and Manu were hurt, if you care to scoff that with nothing to back that up, well, it will just be like the rest of your arguments.

Now, if you want to say they are always hurt or argue they won't be healthy, fine. But don't act like an idiot and tell me they weren't when I can link you to the reports.

Stfu you back peddling maggot :lol. Your argument was shit, and a 50 regular season win team in Boston went to a final over your Orlando regular season (:cry great f'ng regular season :cry) dominators.

That was the point that bloaded your argument.

I don't give a shit about reports fabricated to make excuses for their pissball play. The fact is they're both wildly inconsistent players, and everyone from the Spurs fanbase to the media that writes these "reports" uses injuries (:cry) to make excuses for how inconsistent they have become.

Yeah, cause that's my mo, and I wasn't just saying stuff to rile him up.

Lol at d sucking JT to detract from your shit argument. What does JT have to do with this?

Also, if it was so obvious that Orlando was miles better than SA bc of the playoffs, why try to hammer home the 50 regular season wins point if it brought nothing to the table?

If it's about being injured last year and healthy this year then the spurs are better then last years magic, so im betting the farm that this years blazers should be better then the 95 bulls imo. 73 win ecstacy

but its not, the argument was if being a 50 win regular season team means u are automatically not as good as a 57 win team. Beyond that its all guesstimation anyways.
