GB has looked overrated so far this season, as I feared, and as I predicted..just like I said last season as well..

I really don't like McCarthy as a coach, I don't think they're going to win anything with him as the coach, TBH..

I've been critical of his coaching for years, he annoys me, I can count many times that his coaching has cost the Pack some games..

This looks like it's more like an NFC Championship game than a case of one team being overrated.

They both came to play tonight. It's been one of the better football games I've seen in a long time.

HarlemHeat37

I'm not basing it on this game in particular..

I think GB is a top 3 team in the NFC and the Bears could be a playoff team, I just don't think Green Bay is a title team yet..McCarthy still makes too many bad decisions, they're undisciplined, their D is inconsistent, their running game is weak now, and Rodgers still needs some playoff experience IMO..

I hope they do win the SB though, so hopefully they have a year where everything goes right..

Steve Kerr

This Bears' D surprisingly still has something left, I didn't think Peppers would work out so well for them. If Tommy Harris ever gets it together that'll be a nasty pass rush.

I'll take 3-0 no matter how unimpressive. Cutler is getting comfortable in the pocket and our defense is making some HARD hits.

Bears were predicted by many to go 6-10. They look like a pretty damn good football team right now, way above what a lot of people had them pegged at. Peppers is still a beast.

He turned his head and Bennett went through him. It's similar to the Allen/Braylon call last night except Allen never got his head around.

That should be a non-call as he has every right to his position on the field and he was looking for the ball.

Okay dude.

You can't intentionally restrict a receiver's movement if you're "looking" for the ball. Else you'd have a LOT of cornerbacks with their head on a swivel as they tackle a wideout to the ground.

He didn't know where the ball was and he impeded a receiver. Textbook pass interference. The calls don't get more obvious than that.

Cutler is the same as he's always been, TBH..I watched him from the first game of his NFL career, to his last game as a Bronco, to most of his games with the Bears..he's getting a lot of hype right now, because the Bears are 3-0..

Cutler is extremely talented, one of the most talented QBs in the NFL, but I don't think he's any different, at least IMO..he still throws a lot of stupid passes, makes a lot of bad decisions, and is still shaky in the red zone..

He's definitely the best QB the Bears have had in a long time, and he's a top 10 QB in the NFL IMO, but I don't really see how he's any different..the real test will be how he's playing down the stretch, because he always disappointed us when the team needed to not choke for a playoff spot(along with the rest of the team)..

DisgruntledLionFan#54,927
09-27-2010, 11:32 PM

My bad, I thought the ball was gone before he took the shot.

That said, his mechanics and decision making still leave a lot to be desired.

HarlemHeat37
09-28-2010, 12:09 AM
I agree about the footwork, but he also had a huge problem with keying in on 1 WR in Denver..he always had serious problems with that, and he was also too cocky, which made it worse..he would always try to beat a DB, even after reading the coverage, knowing it's a risky pass..he always thought his arm would beat the opposition..there were numerous coaches/analysts that said the same thing about him..

With that being said, I loved having him as the QB for the Broncos, and he made some of the craziest passes I've ever seen..

DisgruntledLionFan#54,927
09-28-2010, 12:15 AM
The lack of a true #1 in Chicago has helped him a bit. I still think he decides pre-snap where he's going with the ball too much instead of allowing the play to develop.

It's a problem most QBs have with his type of arm; they think they can make every throw into any type of defense. In short, they trust/love their arms too much.

HarlemHeat37
09-28-2010, 12:16 AM

Tough one, TBH..

1. Manning
2. Brees
3. Brady
4. Rivers
5. Rodgers
6. Rothlisberger
7. Schaub

I would have those 7 for sure, then I might have Cutler at 8?..Matt Ryan, maybe?..

Sanchez is improving, but he's currently average..Henne is average..Orton looks improved, but too early..Flacco is garbage IMO, Palmer is extremely overrated, Eli Manning is really inconsistent, Favre and McNabb have little left IMO..

Maybe Vick if he continues??..

QBs aren't that great after those 7 IMO(might be forgetting somebody though)..

I've been of the opinion for the past 3 years that Lovie Smith is the stupidest coach in football. Not the worst (although I would put him in the bottom 5 or 6), but the absolute opposite of intelligent when it comes to making calls. He needs to coach college or something -- the NFL is just out of his depth.

Doing well? Uh yeah, we are 3-0 and that's exciting, but I fully expect this team to go 7-6 the rest of the way, at best.

I posted in here last night because that was a DAMN good football game, penalties aside, and it was exciting as hell to watch. I was waiting for the Bears to lose, but I liked the intensity from both teams, and both QBs made some huge throws.

This is about as shady of a 3-0 start as a team can have. Our offensive line is in shambles, our pass d sucks, and we have yet to find if we have a running back that's better than Jay Cutler. so yeah, forgive me for wanting to enjoy my teams good fortune. :lol

This is sad. How am I trolling? Wasn't it you that brought me up days after I posted in the game thread? You. Brought. Me. Up. Days. Later. That is the definition of butt hurt. Let it go, Louie.

brah you must be queen attention whore if you think relating that comment you made with cry havoc's comment about this being a dead forum means i've had you on my mind for days. don't flatter yourself.

I should use a JT line: "If you have to resort to the 90210 card, you have already lost".

lol that's not even close to my signature line, but thanks for playing the game :tu

I stand corrected. Are you implying you have none or just a few?

i have maybe 3 trolls that i've used in this forum and one of them i only use during the playoffs

How can one attention whore in a dead forum?

Did you or did you not bring me up when I hardly ever come in here and made one comment? Just a yes or no. No long winded response or emoticons.

Let it go. It's not your fault.

It feels good to use emoticons in one's posts. Really amps up the quality. :tu

Yeah, 2 pages of people hating on the Bears, one of you being pissy about when other people post in the forum, and another half page of people discussing the faces of NFL quarterbacks. You're right man, this is quality stuff. Normally I'd have to go all the way to The Club or the Troll Forum to hear people whining and bitching like this.

Who was hating on the Bears? Who was hating on Cutler? Who said that GB should have won this game?

These are all points that no one made and yet you felt the need to bring them up just so you could refute them with great points like, "Did you see that one pass?" and "If they would have scored a TD close to the goal, then they could have been up by 7 more points..."

Quality stuff.

also lovie smith is an unintelligent bottom feeding coach.
